Carnines Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 Given equal power.. 5-6k 8 10's rated 750 a piece 4 12's rated 1250 a piece 2 15's rated 2500 a piece. The 8 10s should be louder because of surface area.. but will they sound better than the other options? When does cone area not win if they are quality products? Is there a situation where you would want to go for 15's vs say the 10's?
Joe X Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 You can't really compare like that. There are differences among same diameter drivers so asking if 10 drivers of model A are going to be better than 10 of model B on the same power is still a very difficult question to answer by itself.
