Enough Amp?

In a transition period between vehicles and looking towards a new setup.

I have a Sundown SAZ-4500D laying around that never got any use. At 1 ohm, is it enough amp for a Sundown TEAM series woofer (more specifically 15")? How about .5 ohm? I see their RMS is 5000 watts but I would also assume that they are at least slightly underrated. Thoughts?

I would expect the team series to be underrated just like the other lines of sundown subs.

Now, if you have a solid electrical setup to keep that amp happy, 4500/5000 rms is quite a lot for a single sub.

Would this be for daily?

Honestly what do you think would happen putting a 4500 watt amp on a 5000 watt sub. The question answers itself

Define "enough". 4500W is sure as hell going to get any sub moving.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.

It's all Sundown bro, you're gonna want to send at least 3 times rated at it just to move it. Well, that's what most of the Sundown fanboys will tell you at least. That amp WILL do some work. A 6K would cater to that sub's needs better, I will agree with others on that. But Sundown boys will urge you to put an SCV7500(are they even out yet) at half ohm to 1 Team 15.

Side note, the fanboy suggestions will always be because their "boy" runs it that way, hardly ever personal experience. The suggesting party usually has no first hand experience with a high power setup and runs their 2 SA12s on an Audiopipe 1500.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

If you can't afford a 6k or 7.5k amp. Starting off with a 4500 isnt the end of the world. Just saying.
