G-Difficult
So today I realized the 1/0 I ran under my car was hit with something and the wire is busted. I haven't tested yet but I believe I'm still getting good voltage. I want to fix it but I'm not sure how. I really don't want to buy a whole new run. It is turning green and has oxidation all in it so I want to clean it out and wrap it in something. Electrical tape? Idk. Either that or cut it out and replace the section. Which I think to do right would mean cutting about a foot of it out and attaching the new span with two fuses. But I'm not sure. Also, I know I was asking for it by running it bare but it's tucked away good and didn't think I'd have a problem. Lesson learned!
bcbrassard
Thats sucks! At minimum i would tape it and get some cheap wire loom on the exposed run after you clean it up of course.

bigmizzle99
why would you risk shorting your battery and burning down the car? I'd get a new piece and re-run it. Camaro SS Build Altima build 2.0 Altima build 1.

G-Difficult
I still have no clue how to upload pictures. I know I need to use photobucket I think but that's it. I'm thinking about getting a coupler I found online. I think I could get enough slack to get it. Then wrap the fuck out of it with tape and loom
06RTCharger
Could you just add a fuse there at the break? Cut off the damage, connect ring terminals, and conect both ends to a fuseholder. That would be easier than ur adding more wire and using two fuse holders. But really u SHOULD replace the whole thing lol and maybe run the new wire higher so it doesnt happen again.

But I've had it installed for probably a year and this is the only damage I've had. I'm thinking not even a fuse, just a coupler. Besides maybe a tad more resistance but should be fine. I would fuse it but I think the plastic fuse holder would be a huge risk of breaking
