Artificial
I'm looking to monitor the output on my amplifier in real time to increase/decrease the volume on songs that are quieter. Currently I've looked into the SMD OM-1, but I'd rather have something that monitors and displays the AC voltage of my amplifier. I've seen some Chinese AC voltmeters, but they don't look reliable. Any clues as to if SMD is releasing such a meter?
reedal
Why would you prefer a VAC readout over the OM-1? Just asking out of curiosity. The OM-1 may be pricey, but worth it. I love mine. Very useful and worth the price for the reliability. And if you do have issues, Steve or Antheny will more than likely replace it at no cost, given their excellent customer service and desire to keep customers happy. deathcards
i don't understand so you wanna see a/c voltage (which you would probably want a fluke product or other accurate and quick method of measuring device) instead of db which when properly set up will give you an immediate and accurate answer at all times skar sk2500.1 0 gauge power and ground kunukonceptz alpine HUvxi65 components on BA gt-275new build log -> http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/150642-project-d-kon-deathcards-build-log/#entry2148821 2 x-15 sundowns singer alt, odyssey bat, and maxwell ultra caps

mothra
someone only listens to sine waves? music is so dynamic that even if you did find anything that could read AC that fast, the numbers would change so fast that it'd just be a nearly blank meter if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know
Wicks
Fluke meters are going to show RMS and not be anywhere quick enough, unless you indeed listen to sine waves. If you want real-time music peaks, then you'll need to use an o-scope. Joshdashef
I second there customer service is top notch. Om-1 is your best bet at monitoring output of yours amps. Get several if you wanna see how your subs / mids / highs are doing on different songs.
