Holy crap, WTF happened to Monte?! I forgot about him, I talked to him on here and YouTube quite a few times. I think last I heard was his Dad passed away. SuperJay, I actually knew him from SoundDomain forums before he ever joined here. Did seem like he came for a bit then left. He may still be around over there, usually in Off Topic. LOL I don't even remember my log in for SoundDomain its been so long since I was there. EDIT: Just searched his name and found the RIP thread, IDK how in the fuck I missed that almost a year ago. Looking at my content I was around posting too. Fuck that sucks! He was a cool ass dude

Depends on the parts used ; so far these are holding up really well to an NS-1 @ 0.25 nominal on an 18v system for burps (the "traditional" clamp method is showing ~13kw per amp but it's going to be more like 10kw in reality as the double clamp method isn't super accurate). I figure the first thing to go will be the cones before we run into any other issues... then we can move onto the NS v1/v2 style cones which will hold a bit more. After that we'll have to re-enforce cones until I finish my carbon fiber / foam core cones. We have had some of our guys in Russia hit an NS v.2 with 20,000 watts in a small ported box (160 dB no-wall) -- we could use the identical soft parts to that in a Z v.3 motor... it was 5H NS v1/v2 style spiders and the NS style cone with the SPL coil IIRC.

Still around... Long story short I was hanging around the wrong crowd and got addicted to heroin. Tried getting help and ended up relapsing. Then got arrested and did 6 months in county. I've been out for a month now and don't plan on ever going back to that chaotic lifestyle. Currently just trying to get back on my feet. No car and no job but I am clean! I also would like to apologize to anyone that I have hurt or fucked over in the process. Those were never my intentions and it will obviously take some time to gain some trust back but the SMD family is worth it Swung by Steve's shop today to say what's up and let's just say some habits never die...
