Finally got my purge kit! Installed it this morning

My buddy got a nakamichi 10" in a ported box he made which was tuned to something totally wrong for the sub way back then, but we proceeded to play some music and got to Edgar Winters frankenstein and had the motor fall off in the box. lol I really do miss the old analog equipment that sounded so clean, clear and amazing, i really don't think we'll ever have another time like we had back then. EDIT: Hell mine had to be around 83, 84 or 85 and the pioneer 6x9's were still king of speakers back then to have for a system. lol

this month we are giving away some awesome Sundown Audio subs and a nice Sundown amp to go with them. I want a lot of contestants this month! So my plan is to do a REVERSE system of the month this time! Basically I HAVE the "System of the Month" in my hands and it will be shipped to the person who wins. Here is what you need. A Car. It sure makes life harder in the world of sales in my shop. Everyone and their brother have between a 1200 and 6000 watt amp and they do like 1/3 of that power in real life. Try selling a JL xd 600/1 for $429 when someone thinks they already have a 1200 watt X brand amp they bought for $129. Even though their amp is 4x the size and does 1/2 the power as the amp I'm trying to sell... I've lost multiple sales because some manufacture puts out far overhyped junk.

Where I grew up, nobody had any "subwoofers" - keep in mind, this was 1983 and I lived in SW Missouri. I was down at a shop in Joplin, MO called The Stereo Clinic with my dad. The owner, Tom, told me, "You wanna' hear something?" I was like sure! He took me out to his Honda CVCC and played ZZ Topp "I Need You Tonight" on his system. When the bass kicked in at 35 seconds into the song, I was like MIND = BLOWN. I was 14. Over the next several years, Tom got every single dollar of money I had to spend in an effort to recreate that experience in my '74 Buick Apollo. OH . . . and his system? Jensen cassette deck, 100W x 2 Sunkyong Power Amp, (1) Pair Acoustic Research 6x9s in a custom box with a 12" woofer cone as a passive radiator. Try as I may, I was never able to recreate this experience in my own car and at one time, I had the VERY SAME equipment. Even today, in my Mustang with HX2 18s, it's not the same. This is one of my fondest memories of car stereo, even today.

dude, i built some systems using those that SLAMMED! i'm not a hater! I heard those explodes in my boy Sprint n was stunned as well. people get hung up on brand names. I mean some brands do SUCK ASS i agree.! Sony used to be top of the line. Google Sony Mobile ES. That used to be the choice over any other brand next to the best Alpines for high end SQ. It's a shame they went xplod on us but what i am getting at is, it wasn't total junk. I would classify it as medium grade. If built properly, amps matched to the subs and gains set right....proper enclosure etc, they were pretty fuckin' nice! like any other medium brand would be if done right. That's the key. Install is 85% of the equation....maybe more.

I first heard some pioneer that looked like metal plates. Then had some that said earthquake. But the ones that got me into bass was some fosgate power DVC back in 2000. First sub I ever bought and best I heard at that time

Double IPA and they make a triple with the label being black on the bottle Ballast Point Big Eye IPA Black Sails Black IPA from Coronado Brewery Oak Town Brown from Cali Craft And my sister hooked her baby brother up! Been lookin for this and when she went to San Diego for a wedding she made it a point to get me a 6 pack of this. This is HOT!!!! Feel the heat for sure
