I was going through the old bone yard trying to find a subwoofer to flex for my Woofer Flex Wednesday video....well i started to use this AA Havoc 12" but then i saw the Fisher sitting over there. I have 2 of them, only one has a dustcap and it wasn't attached. I re-glued it, dropped it next to an SMD......took some pics and even got it flexing hard on that sundown 1500w amp that was still on the bench. How many watts do you guys think this thing took (open air sitting on the bench)? I tested that too Anyway, a lot of you might remember back in the day, just how hard these little things "hit". Everyone knew someone who had one and if your pops had a set, by the time you were old enough to drive, you almost certainly had at least one complete tower (low, mid, high) in the back seat. Probably ran off a home receiver too . Better get that back in the house and hide the wire you cut before pops gets home from work LMAO! Memories... Video coming soon, in the mean time, check out these comparison pics. Times have changed just a little bit haha! the SMD on the left is rated 5000w RMS but as you know, can easily take MUCH more. The one on the right, not so much. 1.5" Voice Coil! Yes! Compared of course to the 4" Coils of todays subs it ain't shit..but damn this thing used to slam!

I have been wanting to do this for a while now. I realize i SORTA already tested this amp but since it was way before i had an official "test bench", it never got a fair shake compared to all the other amps i have tested. I had previously used 2 8ga wires on positive and 2 8 ga wires on the negative (all i had close by lol) for power wire. It was also on one single XS Power D1400 Battery. I also don't think i even tested this amp at 1ohm. There also was no "Amp Test Tuesday". So let me officially make this official and put this on the new bench for a REAL "Amp Test Tuesday". Power supply used: 10 XS Power D1400 14v Batteries. XS Power PSC 60a Intellicharger/power Supply (turned OFF during runs, only turned on in between to top batteries off). Tested the amp at 1 ohm to see if it can do rated power. I really didn't need to do .8 and .5 ohms, but since i did that on the last test, i just wanted to show the difference. I really tortured this amp and it took it like a champ!! got nice and warm but that is to be expected! All gains set with the SMD DD-1 Plus to 8db of overlap. That really doesn't matter too much but i think it's a nice little gain setting to start with on woofers. So what type of numbers do you guys think it will do? There is NINE numbers since i tested in all 3 modes at 3 different impedance's. Video will be uploading in about 1 hour.
