Droppin HZ and Sonic are probably your best bets. -
Currently we are running on a 20-25 day build time. Everyone got their orders in for SEMA and Finals at all once. Usually it is a 10-14 time frame, but this is the season we always get backed up on building alts.

i have heard plenty of people try to say you can't gain from going up to 15+v on a 12v battery. Has nothing to do with having a 16v battery charging at 19v. I am talking 12v battery with a little extra voltage. so yes, you "read it wrong" lol That size alt, with that pull/demand, your basically running at 15plus volt. The 12v bat is doing nothing. You could remove the battery, and still see the gain. Staying 15v plus when drawing 1300amp, well, i dont think a knob will do much. Im wondering if now, a billion members are thinking "hell, i dont need a alt, ill just dial up the amperage. That said, dialing it up a bit, in this situation, worked. One can't simply "dial up amperage". An alt can do what it can do as far as amperage goes.

Is this overkill?
Nathan DM replied to GreyGhostRacing915's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
No such thing as too much alternator especially if there is an idea you may upgrade in the future. The alt will only put out what is being drawn. A good output at idle would be the best bet for you, but depending on the vehicle there may be multiple options that would work for you. Just give us a call in the office 888 MECHMAN or shoot [email protected] an email and we can get you all of the options available. -

How to determine what size alt?
Nathan DM replied to rebar's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
As always just give us a call at 888 MECHMAN or email us at [email protected] or [email protected]. We can probably help to get you in the alt that best fits your needs. We have done this once or twice in the past 36 years since we have been in business. -
Just send an email with the unit you are wanting to order and your complete shipping address. We will get you a quote. You can email [email protected] or [email protected]. Chris may get back to you quicker, because Matt is out at the Mechman facility in Reno, NV this week.

only getting a 14.0 volt charge with new alt..
Nathan DM replied to SJonus's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
Charger should get them up to around 14.4V and then they will drop down to their resting voltage after the residual charge falls off. They should rest in the 12.8 to 12.9 range. -

warranty slow turn around time!
Nathan DM replied to tbeats's topic in Sonic Electronix - Great Selection Great Prices
The amount of ignorance in this thread is amazing! Funny that people choose to blast a company in an open forum (that the company pays to be a part of), and then question why they didn't get the outcome they wanted. Does anyone really think that bringing up crap in a forum is going to get you anywhere with a dealer or manufacture? Customer sent in product for warranty. Company stayed in contact with customer. Then why did this thread even need to be posted? It didn't. -

wiring up multiple alts
Nathan DM replied to liljestrand's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
Easy install to get them working. Splice into the wire feeding the L terminals on your stock harness. Then you daisy chain to connect that wire to all the L terminals on all of your alts. So L terminal form stock harness to L terminals on Second alt to L terminals on Third alt to L terminals to Fourth alt and so on. That is what turns the alts on. -
Our phones will be down today in the office. We are having a new phone system installed, and we will not have phone service for most of the day. You can always contact us here and via email at [email protected] or [email protected].
