its subs up, port forward It looked like a port firing forward but I heard him say "in a box that's not even ported". Must not have heard something. Still badass. "they are not even in a box FOR IT" As in, the threw them in a previous 12s box without dedicating the time and research into making them their own box.

I'll take my comment back if you can find any picture of a folded cone (from pressure) that looks like yours.

Classic puncture wound. Holes don't just show up in cones.

12 spoke and TI (sp4) basket mounting
Noob_On_Droid replied to pstone11's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
My 18 Ti baskets are a hair larger than the six spoke 18" basket. I've had to widen out my box to fit them in the recess, although the actual sub cutout was big enough. -
If you ever looked closley at a coaxial speaker there is a capacitor between the magnet and motor to filter signal going to the tweet.

No mounting diameter given, HELP!!!

If they are both using the standard 12 spoke 12" basket then all the dimensions will be identical. -Drew -
Square woofers make square waves and square waves are always louder than round waves.

Just Google your local welding supply store or air and gas supply place. Its not perfect and you usually have to go up a size compared to audio cable but its not bad stuff.

Different way?

By subframe I mean the one in Thea last pic. What issues would you have running your bat. Cable to the front? I've used hundreds of feet of the stuff you are talking about and the worst part of it all is how hard it is to work with and run because of the lack of flexibility but the wire is still good. I grounded my car to the strut towers because I have a unibody and those were thicker solid points. For a vehicle with frame rails I would bolt to that before opting for the strut tower. -
Underpowering Subs vs Giving RMS

Haha^^^^ or motorforce is king I've never had such definitive results it all depends on how big the big driver actually was. Learn something new everyday. -
Underpowering Subs vs Giving RMS
Noob_On_Droid replied to Mikey Bates's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
The two key variables here is the larger speakers motor and suspension. If it has a very stiff spider pack designed to keep the cone under control at or above 1k it will restrict output on the driver at 250w. Whereas the smaller driver will have the correct motor and spiders to be most efficient at that power. If the big driver has a relatively soft spiderpack for a 1k driver it may perform closely with the smaller driver because the extra motorforce on the larger one will compensate for the stiffer setup.
