  1. 4 15s, not 18s, but that is irrelevant. Not to mention each 5k was at 1 ohm if i remember correctly, and when he was running 2 5ks, each was at .5.
  2. they seem very efficient but can also hang with the big boys.
  3. i have seen 2 dc 5ks on zcon 18s and they take a while to get warm. Yes they are underrated. The vehicle was steve mead's camaro.
  4. With error comes reward, the reward of knowing to not do what caused the error. In installs you WILL hit walls and not know what to do, you need to methodically learn to piece what does what and why something would happen. And if you can post a thread and ask. In helping, we can only narrow down what could be wrong, you have to pinpoint it.
  5. hands on, hands on, hands on. That is how you learn, books and reading can only do so much. After each time you do your own install, you find little things that make big things way easier to do and do them more effectively.
  6. local pick up price on both? edit: pm me please, i dont check threads often.
  7. im running at 2ohms so most i should be getting clean is about 600rms. and skar are known to be underrated as well. .. not sayin ur wrong jbut just notin the fact. yea, just test to see if the HU clips at +15, if it doesnt, just use it like that. the model i have that clips at +1 sub volume is KDC X595.
  8. Well with your mids at -8 I can see that but try this... Bass - 0 Mid - 0 Treble - 0 Sub Volume - +15 HPF 150hz, (only effects door speakers) LPF - 80 no no no, set it to 0. Kenwoods clip as soon as it goes to +1 sub volume on the H/U.
  9. bottoming out maybe? idk the exact term but you can hear uglyness lol ugliness you speak off you be port noise or mechanical noise for over excursion of port velocity. That isnt the dd-1's fault, that is box error if that is what it is.
  10. i have a kenwood, same settings as you, 35 of 35, not distortion. i set my shit with -5 db, and let it ride. If you set it with the dd-1 on track 5 or -10 and shit is bottoming out, set it with -5, the wave of the song might not be clipped but may have a higher amplitude than you think which might be causing the sub to bottom out or get to much power. also, as an example, if you have a 2000 wrms amp, on a 1000rms sub and you set it with the dd-1 and it bottoms out, it is probably due to the double rms, not clipping and so on. that skar is 600rms and that amp tested by ray does around 1000-1100 iirc. That is called overpowering. Plus we dont know box specs or anything like that. I would set the EQ flat, do track 3 (-5 @ 40) and see how it is. If it bottoms out, turn it down, if it doesnt good for you. You need to see what amplitude the wave on that song is for whatever frequency. Unclipped -3db wave will still bottom your shit out if you have it set with -10db.
  11. always has to be a smartass not helping. you have become a statistic what type of question smart ass response and question is that? thats like asking "Does horsepower really matter" clearly its a means of standard measurement.......... you are a jackass for asking a question like this.
  12. not audiopipes, but a lot of these amps we use are essentially all korean build, similar or same build houses. So it isnt completely untrue (take this loosely). Someone correct me if im wrong.
  13. its all about quality of parts, something like zapco or zed you will pay double or more just for the quality even getting the same wattage as AQ. AQ makes great amps, have used them before, and never ran hot or got warm (on good electrical though). If you want an AQ3500, dont look any further, it is a great amp to have.
  14. or........................... check the internal resistance of the meter. A shitty harbor freight meter i had was .9 to 1.1 ohms high (3 was essentially 2)
  15. silly goose, computers dont run, they dont need sneakers or a treadmill...
  16. at least it isnt every hour or two like some...
  17. pic 2 showed up not pic 1 for me. never had a tattoo before but that definitely doesnt look good.
  18. IVX and VVX already.... could be the ZVX or XVX. looking good though.
