  1. Do it right with mdf and you'll be good
  2. they do this from heat...yes the d series can be used under the hood, but a little batt like that needs some protection. The heat wrap made for batteries works good. My d975 did the same thing (not as bad)
  3. I hate working with birch...might be lighter, but that's about it. mdf all the way
  4. It doesn't snow here so idk, but seems like he was going pretty fast for the conditions. Could be the camera making it seem faster then he was going
  5. Not even 1 amp? Would take forever and a day to fully charge a battery. If your new one is above 12.6-7 its good to go
  6. see if you can talk him down a little...I bought one set brand new in box like 1.5 years ago for less then that, and another slightly used set for less then that recently
  7. Because its a lot longer, would he hard to center in the gap. The two sets of spiders might be hard to glue
  8. It can look good if the sub has a custom basket or something
  9. And?....maybe cut out the mounting hole a little bigger so the surround doesn't hit the baffle
  10. No...how would you get the sub out? Just put the box all the way together then mount the sub inverted
  11. It should be fine...as long as it's shimmed even all the way around I like to use just white printer paper cut down to size. It might take alot of sheets but you can keep adding little by little until it's just right
  12. straight from xs Unless you are in a competition class where you are limited by batteries and burping, then you will probably never notice a difference to be honest with you. The XP series turned out to be stronger than we originally though they would be when we designed them. If you have a battery bank of D3100s and a bank with the same number of XP3000 you probably will not see much of a difference. Yes, you can run the D or S series under the hood and the XP series in the back with no issues. That is kind of what we had in mind when we designed the new XP Series. Most people complain about the price on the D3100, so we offered a battery (XP3000) that will run neck and neck with it at a $50 lower cost.
  13. xp3000 can't be used under the hood, doesn't have the thick casing like the 3100. XS said the 3100 is better if your strictly competing, but for daily they would recommend the xp3000. They said if you had a bank of equal amounts of each, you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference
  14. Lol...those kicker amps are solid
  15. All I know is that tacomas have shitty frames...I drilled through it no problem. Sanded it down good and secured my grounds. Was getting voltage drop down to 10v. Switched my grounds to the batts and was back up to 13.5+
  16. you can use it on whatever you want if it fits if it's like the xp3000, they're not made for high heat applications(under the hood). A motorcycle should be fine, wont get too hot
