  1. i never screw around with aeroports either. but i would think it accounts for having 2 ports wouldn't it? so it would adjust tuning accordingly? so both have the same length. you are just adding port area, the length would have to be longer on a singlw port if adding port area to achieve same tuning.
  2. go with 12s based on those dimensions.
  3. sick!! love the game and that is awesome seing it in real life!! i do the same thing in the game as he did!!
  4. im sorry man im not trying to be a dick but dont try to cram 2 15s in a mustang. that will just make those subs sound worse than thye already are. you would have a chance at making them sound ok in a good box but BOSS isnt known for having a great product anymore. you would most likely be happier with the output and sound quality of a single better 12 than both those 15s crammed in there. if you really want to do it sealed is prolly the way to go. but dont expect quality bass out of it. dont even try ported unless you are great at fiberglassing and dont mind giving up your whole trunk. good luck with what ever you choose.
  5. they are good too. personally i have run xs power and love them
  6. 4 brands to choose from IMO not to say one is best but they are all respectable, you make your own decision xs power, batcap, kinetik, DEKA. all great choices. there are others but those seem to be most known. do your research, see what other members run on here, and be happy with the thrill of some on demand reserve amperage
  7. i will let you guys know how wiring the M3a @.5 ohms goes since i will be doing it with kens old M3a!! just bought it
  8. yea bro your stepping up to DD form clarion subs. ahah of course youll be louder. when comparing similiar subs on same power 2 subs will be louder than 1 in most cases. i could easily put a DD 9510 on 3k in a great box and smoke lesser dual 10 setups anyday. i guess there is a fine line when talking about cone area and all that. you just gotta have some sort of a sense of what your dealing with and try to compare apples to apples and not apples to oranges. so of course your gunna be louder going from clarion 12s to DD 8s. each one of those 8s can handle double what the the best clarions can. I assume you have the 500rms set? so just to set this straight, you may have different results if switching from lets say 2 DC audio 12s or sundown 12s to DD 8s. you are talking about a little bit better subs and the difference may be a lot different when you go down to lesser cone area that is the same quality of cone area. i hope that makes sense. im a bit intoxicated at the moment, last part lost me, but I'm feeding about 1200w RMS to the pair of 12s, so 500-600 each (not sure what the amp REALLY does ya know) But I've always wanted to run 8s, this may be my chance finally. The clarions have held up for 5 years and still sound like new, so yeah...im not disappointed with them at all, sure, they aren't any of the mainstreams, or the off brands, but thats what drew me to them, i knew clarion had a good rep in other depts, so i figured id try their subs, I'm happily surprised, especially since i paid 145 for the pair of them. haha well read it tomorrow sober. but yea man, the biggest thing is that you were happy and they had a great life it sounds like. 5 years is a long time. i go through subs like pairs of shoes. i know you will like the DD 8s. if you have questions about them i have some descent experience with DD. OP cone areA!!!!
  9. ill trade you a dual 10 inch prefab box? haah or give you 30 cash

  11. 2 10s. more cone area will almost always be louder as long as the box is made correctly. and lets not make this into a this brand that brand is better guys. OP cone area is king
  12. until you see the tinsel leads start to melt that would make sense. cheese does have a melting point similiar to my leads ahah
  13. sounds like a ground loop? haah or maybe almost blown pico fuse on back of headunit or fuse to radio in car fuse box maybe?
  14. haha so how much do i need to clip my subs to make sure the lasagna is cooked all the way?
  15. 1500 rms of a good brand which you can search on the forum and find will start you off well. you can always add more later
  16. sounds like your starving amp and making it work too hard. give it some bigger wire. 4 gauge i guess and you should be fine. are you sure the 8 gauge is a good brand, reliable wire? cause if its not then that could definitely cause a problem. like socky said its trying to down the drink threw a stiring straw. plus at 1 ohm it is way less efficient than at 4 ohm.
  17. i would but kinda far. i was just there last week only with the familes truck to visit family not the benz. have fun up there!!
