stinger wasn't giving wrong output. it was actually exactly on. just reading too slow to catch the dips…. and i haven't tested it yet grant. I should…. but i really try not to hurt the amp and put it in protect. I think i might later tonight on my next drive. Test it if its the voltage spiking or not.

To those curious, specifically Dubindodge. I did some testing today grant. It doesn't hit any harder or lower to my ear with one side sealed. Helped my flex a little bit more

Cool deal. I also get more flex with one side sealed up. Props on that paper trick, glad to see another sealed trunk doin' work!

I need help getting my doors 150db capable to compete with with out losing my sq. Open to ideas such as 1) new door panels / pillars made 2) pa or high end comps 3) maybe upgrading my headunit to an 80 PRS for processing power. Amp is ct 125.4.... Any ideas? Feel free to PM if its a long winded suggestion.

That's what I was thinking. I was looking into having a hertz HSK 3 way with custom doors done, tweeters in the sails. Just not sure how I wanna hook it up to the 125.4 yet for best results

Scheduled delivery is tuesday evening. Either way, i will be doing final touches and a cleaning on the car friday before the show. I might even take off work that day.

Who knows about protect modes on amps? When I'm full tilt on certain songs i protect. Im sure its not thermal. and I'm sure its not arc. Supposedly that leaves only "DC Offset" and "Overload" protection. Does any one know what those are? It also could be instant voltage drop. So i just ordered a SMD volt meter to see if my stinger can't keep up. It reads 13.5 full tilt.

So could i be having instant voltage drops that dim my lights but don't register on my stinger POS meter? Just changed to OFC, holding almost 14 volts now vs 12.2. But my car lights still dim when its full tilt.

Yes. Headunit is set with -0 with +6 sub level. Max volume 56/60 clean on dd1. Gains set -5. Only play decaf. But amp protects on certain songs. Could it be I'm wired .5 ohm nominal and box rise isn't saving me? It seems to only do it on certain songs full tilt. Even 80% LC-1 and i never have the issue.

Im just trying to connect what is protecting my amp with what i think it could be. Being that its related to output… its not thermal.. and I'm pretty sure its not arch because i don't see any signs of it. So that leaves me with DC off set, and overload protection.

Having second thoughts about outside speakers for car show demo's. Both my gf and a friend agreed that I don't have a show car, so why put in something I can only use a couple times a year.

The plan was to run 6 coax 6.5's on ch 3&4 on my ct 125.4 and put them on a lc1 to control them when I'm not at shows. It would be I. The beauty panel of my trunk so only audible at shows when my trunk is on display.

Meh, I wouldn't do it. My car definitely isn't flashy by any means, but it certainly isn't unusual for someone to give me a thumbs up or compliment.

Well first let me say I really liked the idea strange duck had for tuning the bass with -10db on the dd1 with the sub level maxed, and then using the -5db tone and turn down your sub level until its clean to compensate for different music. I tune just with -5db but that's just me and I mostly stick with decaf so... Second... Yes the 80prs is less then 1% thd at 62/62. Its a bad ass headunit. OP. just make sure all bass boost, loudness, and other EQ things are turned off. Those are all bad. As far as boosting things +1 on your EQ.. That can work, but generally people will tell you to cut frequencies around it rather then boosting the lower ones. So instead of raising 1k... To lower 80hz and lower 1.5khz... That kinda idea. Other then that it seems like your doing everything right. Another contributor would be voltage. If your voltage dips below where you tuned it with your dd1 then that could introduce clipping too. I tune with my car off so I'm safe till about 12.5volts. -
