Did Very Little today. Having a tough time getting into it. My wife got her own place and will be moving out, only thing keeping me from loosing it is this this car. It would be a bitch for someone else to put back together. Template These are center console panels. The bottom one has fuse diagram on it so i will put something over it w/ velco to make it removable. Label it too. Try to get something done tomorrow.

I found the picture of everything i bought summer 2019. At this point the car has been gutted since winter of 2018 for sound deadening treatment. spent close to $2500 on sound deadening materials. Only large areas let are rear door that can be done at any time. I love music and this what it takes to have a good system imo.

I look thru your build log and wanted to say it's nice to see the process being done the way way you are. When your system comes together it will be very nice. It takes time, patients, research and most of all $$$. I spent one summer buying up $5k worth of stuff that still hasn't made it in. Soon though!!! Look forward to watching your progress.

mocking up bottom power and negative runs. another view. Base of amp rack. Needs to be cut in half to fit with all the other factory panels in. Placing equipment so i can measure where i want to cut base board in half. I think in the future i will be putting some powerful Zapco amps in. My new hydraulic crimper comes in sometime this week. So that gives me a chance to to get most everything mocked up.

work on the Malibu begins.2020 has sucked a dick! shitty work season, it took all i had to keep my marriage together and now to put the car back together. It bugs the shit out of my wife, and she wants to park the Benz in the Garage. These are the dash board end panels. I need to do research and find out how to deaden it the best i can while in the car. Some kind of deadening. ? I will foam the back of these. I had to restack the shit in garage to be able to work on it again. Garage went to shit over the summer, speant the last 3 days cleaning it up. Ready to work on tomorrow. This will get some more treatment. panel name cracks me up. More real work to come.

Side markers with led's in them. Lenses installed. I am happy with how these turned out. Trunk lenses with reverse light installed. Bow Tie needs some love but that's later. One piece of Soundshield installed. Factory wiring Tesa taped up and Led's for reverse light's. It wasn't easy by myself and tried to make it as even and nice as possible. Far from perfect, good thing it gets covered up. Factory lid panel back on. Been a few weeks since i took it off. There is a possibility i won't go back to work until after July forth, which would be great for getting some progress made. Back up camera and wiring so i can start filling that space at the bottom. Everything is really close just need the time. Tail lights are next to be tinted & installed. More work tomorrow....

The wife bought it new in 2012, paid it off a few years ago and gave it to me. Has 50K on it with good servicing throughout its life. Its just a project car, if it takes a shit oh well. This Benz is bad ass, the only downfall i see is it teeny tiny 15 gallon tank that will need to be filled weekly. $42 now but when fuel goes up and it will, probably closer to $60. She loves it thought and that's what matters. Thanks for chiming in.

Trying to get trunk lid work done so i can move on to the battery tray. It was the right time to pop the side markers out to tint and put LEDs in. These were a pain in the ass to get out. Cleaned up and prepped to tint. A bit more sound treatment to the trunk lid and then i can start putting it all back together. Boring update but its something. I have the rest of the week off so i will get more done.

I filled these holes with luxury liner pro. The oval holes took 2 layers. I will put some inside the trunk next time i work on it. Made the SoundShield cover for the trunk lid. The wife turned the Jeep in for a 2015 C300. payments went from $640 to $385. Nicely styled car. She is in love with this car. 250 hp turbo 2.0 gets up and goes. Now for the interior & audio. Floating screen. The interface with the car and its systems is badass. the Burmester system. 3.5" mid & 1" twt in the front doors. Same in the rear doors. 4" drivers under the dash on each side. 6" mid-subs in the fire wall on each side. 1 4" in the dash & 1 4" in the rear deck for surround sound. And i found this wiring in the trunk. I think it might be RF plug in play system but not sure. I think i know who did the work and will be easy to ask the shop. so maybe some subs in the future since it hear all ready. Once i tuned the system it is the best stock system i have ever heard but thats not saying much. Really nice car and i am glad she is happy with it.

Updates on trunk lid sound deadening: received my damplifier last week. I finished the inside of the lid everywhere i could reach. installed here for for mass. inside where i could reach. Making template for new product of sound shield to cover trunk panel. Now to cut it out and apply to sound shield. I will fill holes in lid with acoustic foam to help with deadening before covering.

Second week of work so progress is slowing down. The wife's birthday was last Friday so we rented a 22' motor home to drive up to Chena Hot Springs. Awesome place, rented 4 wheeler s, mountain bikes, paddle boat and a lot of soaking in the springs. Working on trunk lid still. All cleaned up and ready for sound treatment. Just getting started. Another view, little areas can be a pain in the ass. I ran out of product, ordered another box of secondskins. Should be here next week. The plan is to use Secondskin acoustic foam to fill these holes up before the lid gets covered in Soundskin. Oh the layers.... This came in Friday.... It wasn't easy to find one that would fit. But this fits perfect!!! At 6 7/8" i couldn't be happier with it. I took a lot of searching and then praying it would work. I was going to build this out of wood and paint it but there is always a better way, it just takes time and thought. Now i can use threaded inserts and a long bolt that will look nice, Maybe even a metal sleeve around the bolts. We will see when i get there.
