So about a week ago my system cut out when I was driving after hitting a pothole...

I got home and checked to see that my capacitor and amp were not on... The headunit still powers up and works so that led me to believe it was a remote issue.

I checked my under hood fuses and connection of the remote wire @ both ends and no breaks anywhere so I am confused as to what else could possibly be the issue ...

You guys have any ideas???

yeah stick a meter on it and see where the voltage loss is. or where the bad ground is. it only needs three things to turn on. power ground and something to turn it on(remote). one of htose three is not doing its job so find it.

I had an issue where my mids and highs would shut off for a couple seconds every now and then. Then the other day my mids, highs and sub all shut off and wouldnt come back on. I pulled my head unit out of the dash and my remote wire from the head unit had actually gotten severed.

I just rewired my entire front end due to this issue. Hope it's an easier fix than the hassle I went through Bobby. Mine was a bad remote wire, but I replaced all of them just to be on the safe side.

on the negative prob, keep it at the ground the amp, then on the positive prob, poke it on the 12v of the amp(if it doesn measure anything, broken fuse perhaps), and then poke the remote terminal(if no voltage, short somewhere on the wire). only because there is no brakes on the fuse doesnt mean that they are still working. meter the fuse by having the negative on a ground, and depending what kind of fuse you have, you should see some metal contacts (tiny pin hole, one on the left, and the other on the right as you look at them WITHOUT taking them out), poke one at a time, if one pushes voltage and the other side doesnt, that means it is a broken fuse.
