MrBigs63' Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 If you had to you could even add another layer to the floor of it to take up some space. Just cut some mdf into squares that fit through your sub holes and glue them to the floor then bondo over the seams.
goodvibez Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Yeah I was thinking about that actually. First I'll be add in some 45's to give it some better flow then go from there. But if that's not enough Ill raise the floor of the front section. Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! scooter99 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Damn, that's a great idea for the floor and adding mdf. Wish I'd have thought of that! How's the sub issue going? Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
goodvibez Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Talked to rusty he seemed cool had me fill out a form for warranty then his customer service called and said since I purchased it through shca I have to go through them and so I've been back and forth with Jon about it and he is talking with rusty about it. And I'm not sure what's is going to happen I may be paying shipping but maybe only half they offered to get me recones but I'm like yeah I haven't done any before and would rather pay to have someone who knows what they are doing do it for me.... Also looks like its two subs have coil issues once I swapped the front one that I knew had it with the rear inverted one I could notice the second from the front sub also does it its just how it goes though... Wish I would have the system playing before I got there so I could have taken care of this problem and made it allot easier on everyone I need more money so I can start fine tuning this box lol...with the subs out I may be pulling out the whole box to do my tweeks to it but I dunnno? Swordlordboy1234 Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 First thing I'd do is tune with -5db on bass. Especially how you play. Especially with dubstep. Most dubstep isn't recorded as quiet as mainstream music so setting your gains that high prob burned the coils. That's my .02 But I'm also a voltage and clipping nazi according to my friends. I can smell voltage drop and hear clipping from a block away My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... goodvibez Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Coils arent smelly...they have a nasty rub on high bass notes...for as much as they move I haven't ever heard any bottoming out. They noise from subs has been there from day one...sound great on the lows! But high bass notes have some definite buzz clacking with.subs only moving 1/2" to an inch. Was told to wail on them playing some low lows lol and the issue should take care of its self, been pounding them as much as I feel safe but issue hasn't changed. Just to clarify I'm not complaining both DC and sh a have helped me quite a bit and I greatly appreciate what they have done! _paralyzed_ Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 It's disappointing to see that much variance in the voltage meters. They're obviously working, just not all calibrated correctly. I don't even know if they are adjustable, if you can recalibrate them so they all match?. The 12.9 of your amm-1 and your multimeter were most probably the actual voltage. I googled calibrating voltage meters, and without building a small circuit or sending your meter off to N.I.S.T. there is no super easy way to accurately calibrate a voltage meter. Your best bet is to use a high dollar (fluke) meter and calibrate to that.
goodvibez Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Yeah I wish I could calibrate them as well like you can on the om-1's....I mean when the voltage drops they all drop equally ...but if they aren't starting at correct voltage then...you get my point.... But I have separated the positive wire on the dash vm-1 so its not tied with other gauges and ran it directly to the rear batteries and same result...I'll run the negative as well just so there is no question if that don't work then I dunno? Every build has issues, I'm just working mine out...kinda glad I have issues gives me something to do...once its working and stuff won't be long till I'm bored and have to go bigger lol! I mean who really needs a rear seat am I right!
