Pro audio vs Components?

Most components are designed as drop in factory replacements and supply the needed crossovers while pro audio equipment needs a more in depth install. Active or passive cross overs and sound processing some would say to achieve proper sound from them. Magnets and depth of pro audio drivers are usually larger and deeper requiring spacers or custom speaker pods.

Great write up Taylor.

No secret, PA's are built (sensitive) to get LOUD. And, not sound as good doing it. Also, they lack low end.

That said, most will use them in HIGH SPL apps. At 155, you just want something to keep up a bit.......

I don't know, I wish you could just have like 8 high end components in the front doors to hear over 155's.

In a perfect world.... i hear ya...

Would take a lot of power for the 8 sets also.

You see that PA's can get blow your ear hole out loud, on shit power......

thats how the AUDIOTISTICS van runs like 20 PA's on ONE amp.........

Sensitive as a mother fucker......... But,... with that, you sacrifice..........

In my old build I had a pair of aq pro mids and a pair of aq super tweets on a jl jx360/4 and they kept up with a 151db substage, once I get my doors done my front stage will be on 8 pa mids and 2 super tweeters on 1200w and Im confident that it will keep up with my 15,500w substage.

Used to have a loud truck

It depends on the speakers as well. Obviously some sound better than others. I paid a lot for my beyma's but damn was it worth it. They sound really good and are loud as hell
