Berto
I'm working on a fiberglass project and I have a spot that leaves a gap, I was thinking about my options but now I have a question about the materials I narrowed it down to. The easiest route seems to be insulation foam (Great Stuff) but I was wondering if resin would eat that up when I go over it. Other option was body filler. Don't think I'll run into any issues there but it might be a little tougher. TEAM FLEX ISSUES Car: 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal 24" Rims HU: 7" Carputer, Planet Audio EQ, iPhone. JamieHoward
You can use great stuff but before you resin it you have to put a coat of latex paint on the exposed foam or else it WILL eat the foam. I made a housing for my EQ this way and it turned out great. There are other foams made from different materials that won't get eaten by resin but they are much more expensive. Great stuff + "oops" paint at Lowe's = cheap and easy.
Jessica
In addition to the above, you can buy fiberglass bodyfiller. It will add some strength to your project. Amart88
I've always wondered if you could glass OVER body filler with good results. I would go for the "kitty hair" filler myself. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

bsneon98
I've always wondered if you could glass OVER body filler with good results. I would go for the "kitty hair" filler myself. i used that method with my kicks, along with a layer of mat then used lightweight body filler over that sanded, painted and didnt like the way it looked... lol, threw carpet on them and called it a day. Rell
You can glass right over great stuff foam, I've tested it and it works just fine. No need to coat it with anything.
