Amp Test Tuesday - Crunch V-Drive 1150.2 - Pre Guesses! (Results Page 6)

Recommended Posts

This week's Amp Test Tuesday is going feature a Crunch V-Drive 1150.2. It is rated @ 1100x1 MAXX (yes, with 2 X's) 4 ohms bridged, one channel. Or 550x2 @ 2 ohms. The book makes no mention of RMS, just "maxx". So i really have no choice but to use the rating they gave me. It doesn't even say what voltage it was rated at. Therefore, i did not test @ 12v, but rather @ 14.4+v to give the amp FULL benefit of the doubt. To me, 14.4v is acceptable because it mimicks being in a car, with the alternator turning......as best i can for a battery bank.

so here is the contest for this week. $40 bucks cash, paypal.........or $50 credit towards any SMD D'Amore Engineering product at http://www.wcCarAudio.com

Whoever gives me the highest achieved RMS number in any mode, @ the RECOMMENDED 4 ohms bridged (2 ohms), will win! If you think i got it to do 1200w, 4 ohms bridged, then post that as the number. If you think it did much less, then post that! Do not add numbers up this week, just give me the highest achieved number IN THE MANUFACTURER'S lowest SPECIFIED impedance. KEEP IN MIND, in the video, i DID drop the impedance down to 2 ohms bridged (1ohm) just to see if it could handle it. But that is NOT the number i am looking for! I am using only manufacturer's specs. I know i repeated myself a few times but honestly, people still won't get it....for those that do get it, bring it on!

I tested this amp with:

3 D1400 batteries, fully charged.

@ (4 ohm bridged) 2 ohms

Certified mode (test stops @ 1% distortion) xxxx watts

Non-Certified Mode (test stops @ Clipping) xxxx watts

Dynamic Burst RMS (test stops @ Clipping) xxxx watts

how much do you think i was able to squeeze out of it? Results Tuesday, at http://www.youtube.com/meade916

see ya then!
