Prefer to work on your car/build alone, or with a friend?

Recommended Posts

Just curious about everyone else. Personally, I don't enjoy working on a car alone. I'd always rather have someone on hand to pass tools, bullshit, hold my beer, ect. That's part of what's killing me getting this four channel amp installed in my Mazda; I have literally nobody reliable to come over and lend a hand within an hour and a half drive of Mandeville, LA.

Wasn't sure I'm the odd man out, or everyone else prefers having help too.

I can't get as much work done with someone else there. I talk to much and can't focus. I can bust work out much faster on my own. If it's a casual project like wiring amps or cutting/running wire, then another person is nice to have around to talk to/help.

If a tool like a saw or router is running, alone is better for focus.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Hmmm ... Never really gave this any thought. Don't guess it matters to me.

If I have someone else with me I actually pay attention to what I'm doing; if not then I'll just get bored and leave, sometimes midway through a cut.

Krakin's Home Dipole Project

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Alone.. Reasons why..

1) Like Justin said, talking. More talking = less progress

2) If someone is going to fuck up anything with my car, Id like it to be me

3) I have a good idea on how I want shit done, and don't want anyone else to feel the need to argue. If I want someone else's input, Ill ask in my group chat.

4) At home at least, I don't trust anyone else with car audio. Maintenance and performance are a different story though

it depends on who is helping. if it is someone who actually knows what they are doing, yes. But if it is someone who is just standing there and slowing down the process, not so much. Once i get in the zone, i just keep going. sometimes it would be nice to have a hand, even if they don't know what they are doing. I guess it depends on what i'm doing

Depends on the helper....if it takes me more time to explain what I need that person to do than it would be for me to just do it my self then I'd rather just do it my self...sometimes you need help, have to have it. so you take whatever you can....brother,sister, dog who ever is around to help lift or hold or pull :)

I always enjoy help from someone who knows how I like things done, and free help is kinda nice as well!

Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are!

I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating!
