I'm sure they play, but as soon as you put anything over 300watts to them, i bet they fry... Can't find anything else on them except YouTube, which wasn't much... I mean they're no DC, DD, Sundown, Pyramid, Boss, Lanzar (joking on the last 3, ) or other higher end subs, but they do handle rated from what I've "heard." Never seen or listened to them in person, so I suppose I can't comment too much on this. Are they garbage not what they say they are? Will the SoundQubed HDS2 series outperform the comparable NVX sub? I don't have a model off the top of my head, nor do I feel like Interwebing for it... Everything I've seen on YouTube about NVX seems legit.
