forrest_siems
Okay so my audiopipe 1800 never really got hot when I first got it. Now I think it puts out dirty power and is getting hot. Gains were set with a dd1, so I feel that's out of the question. I'm only dropping to 13.2 volts at the lowest. I feel like I'm squeezing every but out of this amp. I can't believe this amp only cost 180 now. I've heard they put out dirty power. My amp and sundown zv4 get how now. When I turn the gain down it helps obviously. But it's hardly even loud at all. Should I get a better amp?

Wicks
Probe the output of the amp with a DC voltmeter while playing a test tone as high as you normally would play music. See if the meter registers any reasonable DC voltage (it shouldn't). A DC bias from the amp could cause it to heat up as well as the sub. jk13
Audiopipe thread? Pretty much all go like this: Some will say they are junk. Either they owned one and are past it or never did and are going off others' experiences. Some will defend them as decent 'value'. Will claim they 'do rated' or are okay 'for the price' but never mention anything beyond that--like reliability or sound quality. Some will care just enough to come in and post, but would never, ever consider owning one. Some will ignore or sit back and watch the drama. Static drops are my bag.
