Review On Roscoe's Benzo

Sunday, July 27th, I had the privilege of experiencing one of the, if not, the best sq system I have listened to in my life. Very rarely, at least, with the people I have known, have I ran into a system that even comes close to this caliber. Roscoe gave me a demo with me in the drivers seat, playing the usac sq competition disc. The soundstage is incredible. It is at head height, and is very accurate at placing instruments on the "stage" created by the setup of the speakers. As sounds would move from left to right, and right to left, there was absolutely no center gap that is usually found in most systems. The sound moved fluidly without any break and was tuned to not be too heavy on the drivers side. I was reading in the build that someone said the highs were going to be harsh, I highly disagree. The highs were bright, but not harsh. Roscoe likes the brighter highs, some people don't, but I have been in systems where it literally hurt to listen to, and this is far from that. The system is very accurate, crisp, and when I closed my eyes while he was playing the eagles recorded on the usac comp cd, I could pinpoint where instruments were on stage when recorded. It was like the sound was bigger than the vehicle itself. That is the way a soundstage is supposed to be. I did not truly expect the lows to be so accurate with the vented enclosure. I also did not realise the potential of the t2's when powered properly with the right enclosure. The lows were tight and punchy, yet very powerful and totally encompassing. Whether the song playing had punch or boom, you could feel it in your entire body, yet it was very tame. Not too boomy, and no note was too much compared to another. The lows were balanced, literally, perfectly. The highs, nor the lows, would overpower the other. If anyone ever has a chance to experience this vehicle, I would highly recommend taking the time to sit back and enjoy, in my opinion, one of the best sounding systems out there.

Thank you very much roscoe for the demo.

Joe

I might have to make a trip out to hear this in person. :D

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

Thank you Joe. I would say that this set up is pretty much an budget set up in terms of what can be done. The only processing I have is the head unit and the xovers that came with the componants. I did this pretty much to show that ppl can have a decently priced sq system. Granted I have not pimped the sq of my car but that is only because most ppl on here arent into the sq aspect and that is fine. I grew up doing installs for sq or better than stock good and loud listening. Like I said b4 I pretty much stoped sq competitions due to the human factor. Never will you please every judge. It is impossible. That does not mean I am against having a great yet versitile system.
