i agree the btl has to be "better" built but this sub is meant to take alot of power and produce high numbers.

the l7 is overall a capable daily driver which gets loud off ~1-1,5 kw. the btl starts shining on 2,5 kw+

you should compare a solo x to the btl.

for most daily setups id take 2 l7s over a single btl.

again your incompetence shines..

daily systems are more prone to abuse than high power competition setup.. (example every noob asshole who has his gains and freq cranked all the way up with voltage dippin into the 9s.)

subs get old.. suspension gets saggy and soft. and surrounds dry out and crack..

instead of having to chock up another 230 dollars for a sub i cant recone. i can buy a 100 dollar recone kit and have a new woofer again.

also.. even fi's lowest line woofer is built better than a l7 and will get louder in the same exact application.. daily 1 to 2 k rms

i dont believe the comment was meant to imply that kicker is a fake brand. only that you have subwoofers....and then you have SUBWOOFERS. some are built with different things in mind aiming for different goals. i think kickers was to make money =)

i have owned l7s, solo xs, and i will say the 3 15" fi btls are the greatest subs i have ever owned. the quality of the sub, the quality of the build, and the quality of its performance outshine A LOT of other subs.

and of course a lot of people would take 2 l7s over 1 btl...i mean...who wouldnt want 2 of something compared to one of something? no sir, take back one of these burgers. i didnt want two, only one.

its hard to get people out of the mainstream stuff until they actually hear somethin first hand better. I used to think solo xs were beast and then i saw fi,aa,dc,re, audioque. Now its obvious what top of the line is. I cant really think of a mainstream brand i would pick a sub from over any of those. I gotta keep a pen and paper in my car at all times now cause people always wanting me to write down the site i got my subs and amps from. Hearing is believing.

From stuff ive heard and seen tho, I would NOT give a solo x their rated power. Ive heard plenty of bad experiences but who knows they could all be coincidences?

ive been comparing solo x vs btl, and you started saying l7 vs btl.. i never once said anything about L7, but if you want to compare

I would spend the extra 20 bucks and get a FI q, Just incase you get user error, you can get recones, it does happen from time to time anyways, and you never know when it could happen

maybe noobs were running the solo Xs because of the hype... underpowering can be worse than overpowering!

That's a pure myth perpetuated by noobs thinking that since they're underpowering they can turn the gains up and clipping the coils to death (clipping = power transferred to heat but not mechanical movement, which is needed to cool the coil)

IF UNDERPOWERING KILLED SUBS, ALL SUBS WOULD BLOW WHEN YOU TURN THE VOLUME DOWN

seriously though. quit saying any kicker is better then anything from Fi, AQ, DC, or PSI(recones)

fancy ribbed molded surrounds and fancy shapped cones don't mean they have a lick of quality in the actual build.

Okay look at the BL its a 1kw driver and it completely dominates the L7 in every aspect... I've played with alot of L7s but they don't hold a candle to the BL.
