  1. Experimenting with some idea's that i have had for almost 15 years and i think i am on to something cool. I actually did this years ago but didn't have any way to make the housings (for the magnets) and i didn't want to make them out of wood. Now that i own a CNC, the sky (and my imagination) is the limit. What you are about to see is subject to small changes as well as some big changes as i make a few different versions of this in the coming month. I plan to have these ready mid August. If you have a box you would like to take out every day, this will work great! Before you say anything, just know i have already tested this up to 1600watts and there is NO difference with this terminal vs. a direct wire connection. I was very pleased. I suspect i can take it MUCH further than that and i will test it (and prove it with the AD-1). Please remember this also, this is a prototype! I am going to make it nicer before it sells...i will also offer it with 12ga AND 8ga OFC cable. This way you can save a little bit and not everyone needs 8ga. Also, before you say it, i plan on making the AMPLIFIER side neo-magnets countersunk and the speaker terminal side will stick out some. this way you don't run the risk of the wrong side sticking to the side of your car with the amp on. I already have the drawing fixed i am just waiting on materials. These products are made from raw flatstock and hardware at SMD HQ.

  3. What about making a special piece for a power block. For a quick disconnect? And a single block on the wire side, so you could do some extra jumping outside the box. And don't have to fumble 2 blocks.. And finger grab spots.. Pretty slick though I like it

  4. Nice... quick and easy load swaps. Daily to comp, and back again in no time ...... interesting idea.

  5. I'm just thinking that it would be great for quick impedance switching.

  6. thats pretty awesome. although when it comes to larger amounts of power i would be a little skeptical because neo magnets are made of ceramic, and coated in nickel. and only the nickel coating is conductive, not the magnet itself. but being such a small connection id think it wouldnt be too bad with small power, since the electrons dont have to travel very far, now stack 50 magnets together and do the same thing and resistance would definitely play a part. i also think about the heat created by having a current pass though the magnet, and the build up over time potentially affecting the magnetization, and the resistance the heat increase causes. i also just read that when you pass a current through a magnet, the flow of electrons in one direction, affects the poles on the magnets since they flow in both directions, and can negatively affect the magnetic bond. something to think about, seems like an awesone idea though.

  7. thanks!!! it's not that the heat-shrink is exclusive or anything....we just haven't really offered it because we had it made for our new RCA's and a few other items. It wasn't really meant to be for sale But if you are interested that is something we can easily do. thanks again!

  8. the only downside will be the price. Neo Magnets are not cheap, there is 6 tool changes for the "cup" and 2 for the wire-side adapter. They take time to make pretty and assemble. The wires will be soldered to the ring terminals that attach so that will take time... But it will be fair! And they will definitely be cool

  9. i honestly did not want to talk about this yet but after testing i realized i couldn't take it anymore and i had to share. Plus...TIMESTAMP for anyone saying they did it before me.

  10. Damn that was quick, I guess those things you where talking about are all in order? Is my care package of samples on the way already?

  11. That's a pretty slick idea, I can see these doing really well sale's wise.
