Something you have to take into account, is that the port area depends mostly on the sub and how flat you want the respond of the box, 2 4" aeros is WAY too small for that badass sub, i don´t know if you want a nice bandwith, having a LOW peak, etc etc, you said you want to tune it @ 30 hz, why that low? you would end up with long aeros that would shrink the box even more, that sub can definitely play below tuning frequency very strong, maybe 33-35 hz tuning is more than enough. Said all that, joe X is right, a single 8" port could do the job, would play very nice on every frequency you play, i would try to use 2 6" aeros, you can use PVC pipes and make some nice flares with a heat gun, or spend extra 70$ and buy a pair of aeros @ partsexpress wich i honestly think it´s your best option, they are 17" long and would get you around 36 hz tuning and 5.4 cubic feet after displacement, that box should play VERY nice in my opinion...

sealing off the wall shouldn´t add you instant 5-6 dbs, that score is pretty low, i gained only 0.8 dbs by sealing my wall of and trust me, it´s very well sealed, you should post box specs, pictures and everything you can so we can help you out a little bit more...

i can send you a few sinewaves if you want, but like my boy hotdog said, impossible to know without metereing what your peak is in order to choose a song, you could also use your "ear-meter" , what songs are louder to your ears with your current setup? we could help you out a little bit more with that info

hey guys, i´m considering the idea of taking the 16v route, i own a mechman 270A alternator in my 98 2gen 4.0 V6 Ford Explorer, i might install the stock alternator for the 12v and add the regulator for the mechman alternator so i can charge some 16v batteries, said all that, what´s the price for the regulator and what other thing would i need to get this done?? thanks a lot guys...

If i buy a pair of subs, would you come to Panama and build me the box??? trolling mode: off -
yeah man, i´ve been into car audio for about 12 years and i honestly feel that i learn something new everyday, for an example you ca take my mechman 270A alternator, i was having some major voltage drops until you told me to add another run from alt case to battery negative, i never thought that would be such a gain lol, but anyways, thanks a lot for the inputs!!
-
That´s exactly my thoughts!!! Using this same topic i do have a question for you, i have 2 runs of positive and negative wires, what about if i use one positive from my mechman alt to the primary battery and use the other one from the alt directly to the amplifier? just a dumb question lol

did you wet sand and buff like a car or just buff the paint wet sand and buff, all the things so the paint ended up just like a car´s paintjob, didn´t do it myself tho, we took the box to a friend´s shop and he made the job for free
