  1. Why don't you just stay with Kicker ... My son's Kicker Component set (that I won here on SMD SOTM) sounds great !!!
  2. What is the main thing you want out of your system ?? How much power do you plan to run so we can help plan your electrical ?? Is this system going to be for competition, or personal enjoyment ?? Any pics of your vehicle ?? With that much equipment you listed, are you planning a Fiberglass build / install ?? and one of the main questions ... How much bass do you have or planning on setting up ??
  3. My pair of tweeters in the A-pillars play down to 2600 htz, and my 6.5" drivers play full range and sometimes cut on the bottom end at 40 htz, and my subs hardly ever go above 50 htz ... I'm just thing you can do better with less ...
  4. Sounds like a great setup for a front fill of your bass system ... but, How do you think you would get a "front stage" with that many drivers ?? My apologies, but setting up a good front to a sound system with alot of bass and setting up a system with "front stage and image" it TOTALLY two different things ... What kind of vehicle are we going to be working with here ???
  5. Guess having an enclosure thats tuned to 22 htz has its advantages ... LOL
  6. I must admit ... Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and The Eagles "Greatest Hits" and "Long Road to Eden" are by far my favorite Demo Disc ... Here lately, since the addition of the Kenwood DNX9980HD ... "Real Steel" has been a REALLY GREAT movie Demo DVD !!!
  7. Welcome to SMD When you buy the SA Subs ... get SA's recommendations on what amp(s) to run on them ... I'm sure they are going to say one of their SA amps ...
  8. What do you know ... A very "High end" Sound Quality vehicle with rears ... Sounds like something I would do to my vehicle ... If I had that kind of money ... LOL Any ways regardless of the year ... Thats one bad ass machine !!! or is it ... did the build those in the A-pillars like that ???
  9. My apologies here ... But I can not help out here unless you know exactly what you want out of your system ... first its SQ, then shaking the block, what is it ?? Those subs can do just about whatever you need in a good sounding system ... But we really need to know exactly what you want in performance wise to be able to help you ...
  10. I was not talking about the capabilities of the drivers ... I know they can kick ass when set up correctly ... I was talking about the enclosure design ... dirving the subs more "up front" and lower tuning enhances stage and image with deeper, stronger, more dynamic bass ... If you want to be louder and just "sound good going down the road" I HIGHLY sugggest taking out your rear seat and build a larger, ported style enclosure ... I definately understand the misconception here ... hence the reason why I cut my wall and adapted my enclosure as the new back wall ... yes, It blows through into the bed, but it does not touch the bed of my truck in ANY way ... I wanted stronger bass than what a center console enclosure could give me (at the time) and wanted to keep my back seat (enclosure done nothing to help me either) for the kids. So out came the air saw !!! LOL as far as I could tell, the results wer a positive ...
  11. you're not going to "Shake the block" with a downfire low tuned center console enclosure Sir ... you're talking more of outlaw bass than Sound Quality ... you might as well take out your back seat ... The only way I was able to get very strong bass and work for sound quality was to cut my back wall and hammer my subs with GOBS of class AB power ... And from what I've seen ... JL subs are really nice when set up and tuned correctly ... but not "Shake the Block" material
  12. I never run my trun on/off wire with my RCAs ... too much "Might happen" for me ... on my truck, the turn on/off wire is in the driver's side of the transmission and the RCAs are on the right ... atleast 24 inches away from each other from front to rear of the vehicle ...
  13. everytthing looked normal until we jacked it up glad you found it (what ever it was) and got it fixed ... absolutely ...
  14. If you plan on a Sound Quality system ... I'd start out with my front stage definition and head unit capabilities ... sub stage "Fill" should be the last thing on you "To Do" list ... in my opinion, you shouldn't need no more than 2 10s or 1 12 ported and tuned to or around 24 to 28 htz ... if you plan to go with the center console idea ... then again ... just my suggestion here
  15. sounds like it may have broke an axle in the rear end ... might get lucky and the differential chunk be ok ... might be best anyways to replace the entire rearend if this is the case ... and if this is a daily driver, why would you want to go with a posi / lower geared rearend guys ?? unless of course this was a street machine I could definately see this upgrade ...
  16. Sounds like you just need to update your resume and find you another job that suits you ... I choose to work my 3rd shift because its more rewarding (meaning I can concentrate on my work without distractions) plus I get paid shift differential (more money) ...
  17. Nice looking drivers 4 sure ...
