    My guess (and this is common) is that he was jamming on the system and the sub driver amplifier(s) were sucking up all of the battery energy and starving the mids and highs amplifier and it got too hot ...

    A high output alternator is absolutely useless without something to charge ... Step one in a system is adequate power and electrical ... No need to trouble shoot anything until you get a second battery in that system so the alternator will operate properly ... My dad told me LONG ago ... You GOT to know what you are doing because you HAVE to Pay if you want to play the game !!!
