  1. Yes, they should work fine in your rear deck kynto, that is what IB is (infinite baffle, meaning no enclosure for the speaker except the mounting baffle (in this case the rear deck))
  2. I love swype! took a lil bit to get use too and still learning some shortcuts, but it is ftw!
  3. so true. :trippy:
  4. 1 stepdown would give you the lower voltage you need, but most likely your car may need more then 1 stepdown to power your vehicles full stock electrical system. If you had a clamp meter you could turn all the cars accessories on (headlights, heat/ac, wipers, hazards, etc) to get an idea of your max current draw and a idea how many you would need The 50amp rating on the stepdowns is a peak rating, so you would need 2 for sure.
  5. nah, its not meade... tho that civic does just sit.. Lols but it was a red hatchback.
  6. yea. just noticed its a civic, so it maybe worth it in your case. There was a guy on here that put 2 alts on a civic i think, tho I dont remember the guys name or anything and the car just always stayed on blocks at his house iirc. As for having voltage drop, that will probably happen when you get your bigger amp, but the 16volt batteries are not that big, so im sure you can fit more then 7 in the car if need be. And for your ground question, Ground to your front battery (if 16volt too) or your alternator(s) if you actually go thru with these upgrades, no reason to skimp on wire for a quality grounding source!
  7. personaly, 18volt charging system is a waste, especially for only 5-10krms. Now maybe if you where way limited on space, and looking for a a extra few tenths on the termlab it maybe worth it. I planned to run a 18volt setup for years now, but I just didnt have the need to use it. If I had to do it tho, I would run option 1 with the stepdowns and have all 3 of my alts charging 18volts.
  8. LOLs!!!!!! Take the back cover off the amp, depending what kind of inputs are used on the amp, you should be able to poke a small pin or nail thru the back of the rca inputs on the amp and push the center pin back out.
  9. this thread is useless without knowing what you plan to power your wishlist of a stereo with
  10. Fact: Battery Isolaters are only needed when you plan to play your system of a separate battery with the vehicle off. The Isolater then wont allow the stereo to drain which ever battery is being isolated so the vehicle can still be started.
  11. The light bulb is probably not screwed into the socket all the way, and the higher frequency is enough to make it lose contact when it vibrates. Im sure if you found a song with a constant frequency around that range the bulb would slowly unscrew and fall out
  12. Id find a legit dealer that isnt trying to blackmail or bribe their customers for business. A legit dealer will never push any particular brand on their customer or say if you dont buy my stuff, I will no longer let you in my store or sell you other things.
  13. 16 volt batteries need to charge at 18 volts to remain properly charged. The kinetiks 1600 max amp rating does not even apply in this situation since the poster is only using the 12 volt side of the battery. So your maybe looking at 1200ish amps per kinetik 16volt, or 2400 amps total from both the batteries..
  14. yes, the XS Power d3100 should have no problem walking all over the 2 kinetik 16 volts. When using the 12volt studs on the 16volt kinetiks you are not even using all the batteries cells, so they are no where near being used to their full potential. On top of that, those batteries usually have a tendency to go bad quickly due to the dual voltage design. Which has Eight 2volt cells wired in series to achieve 16volts, and when using the 12volt terminals you are using only Six of the 2volt cells. Which results in the last 2 cells for 16volts to never fully charge. This is why you do not see XS Power making a 12/16volt battery.
  15. Theres a lot of difference.. such as a regular wet wet lead acid battery will leak if used on its side vs an AGM battery like XS Power, BatCap, or Kinetik which can all be installed anyway the room is available. A regular wet cell lead acid battery should not be used in a trunk of a car or interior of the vehicle ANYWHERE because they discharge Toxic Deadly gasses. A regular wet cell lead acid battery will bever have a high aH rating, or Discharge rating, nor could it ever have a instant 3000+ Short Circuit amp rating. Thought those 3 things are a PRETTY BIG DIFFERENCE for a battery that some claim to be the SAME.
  16. ooooooo oh! David is threatening the bannnnnnn hamma again, must mean he has the internets back at home (congrats bro). Now I shall find myself a big rock to go crawl under to stay ban free. :yahoo:
  17. usually the way i make mine sound loud again is just disconnect the remotes on the sub amps for a few days and roll bass less. youll be tempted to turn the sub amps on, but with no remote wires they wont go on, then once you went crazy from no bass hook them bitches back up! Personaly going from a 151ish to almost a 154db @ 34hz (db drag legal) i really didnt notice much of a difference, but i noticed lots of things move more violoently inside and outside my vehicle that I wasnt use to seeing move no where near as much. However on some songs things felt drastically louder to the body and ears. Tuning plays a huge part in how loud things sound. me hearing a 45hz 155db vehicle then hearing something lower in the 30hz range that may only be 150ish db, that lower freq sounds much louder on the ear even tho the other car meters much louder. I personaly never sat in a 160db vehicle that was below 50hz tuning, but I have sat in a friends van with sixteen 15s in a clam shell before he put all 8 of the mojo4ks on the subs, it was around a 158db bassrace run but us being inside lowered the score. however it was very intense, db drag judge made us wear hearing protection tho it didnt do a damn thing.
  18. I wouldnt really buy parts here and there. Stupidest way to buy computer parts imo! Id save your money and when you get a good chunk of change buy your parts all at once. Otherwise what happens is you buy some parts, and then 2 weeks later its $5-20 cheaper.. or you buy your parts then a few weeks later there is something way way better out for the same price, and theres no better feeling then having new computer parts that you didnt even use and they are out dated. LOL Im currently running 8 gigs of Corsair Dominator Memory and also have no issues either. using a Asus M4A79T mobo, and a Phenom ll 965 quadcore 3.4ghz processor, Corsair 750wattPSU, and a evga 9800gtx until I upgrade to 3 or 4 ati cards. Also win7 64bit machine. Just waiting to get a 400-800gig SSD next..
  19. Four 15s that make my house windows flex
  20. So now Im confused... You dont want to do subs up port back because this is a daily driver and you want to hit lows. So Im wondering why a box that fires the woofers up and port back cant get low and be louder at the same time??? Ive ran both ways in my tahoe, and the sub up, port back boxes have always been louder, and when I was at a competiton my burps frequancy was 31-35hz dependent on box Makes no sense to me really.. Here is one of my first boxes in this truck, peaked at 35hz, powered by two 3krms amps 150.1-150.4db legal Heres a 2nd box, louder then the first box peaked at 29-31hz powered by 2 3krms amps 150.5-150.7db legal. Later I sold off the two 3k amps and replaced them with a sundown 4500, and it do a 150.4db legal consistantly. Current box, loudest of them all, peaked at 32-34hz, powered by the same saz-4500, and would do a 151.1db legal pretty consistently. I tossed a 2nd amp on the subs and was .2db away from doing 154db legal after more tweaks before going to the last show. But was the louder and lower then the box with subs/port backwards which was a PWK design...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0IX9kmovgE#t=1m41s
  21. Heh... Nice saw. we sell them lol This is what I use to do my builds. 10hp extension table digital fence she a beauty!!
  22. building a wall with 20sq inches of port per cub, and attempted to tune it that low would require one longggggggggg port....
  23. Looking good man, liking the new center console build you got going on
