    I always use rubbing alcohol. You don't want to use anything citrus. It will leave an oily residue behind. Castrol Super clean will work also.

    Because the computer has different voltage setpoints in which it will charge at a different rate. Sometimes its the auto lights, defrost, rpm's accessories and such.

    I would get an externally regulated setup personally. Only way to 100% beat the PCM.

    My old car was PCM controlled. Charged at 12.9v when driving. 13.8 with light turned on. It sucked.

      I would say get it if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a high end HU for the high voltage pre-out. That's really the only reason why I got it was for the higher pre-out voltage. It is a high quality piece and durable but I would not pay more than 50$ for it.

      I only went a week. New alt and amp and my voltage...poof. So had the entire system practically "whispering" haha. Re-did some wiring, found out a fuse....didn't blow but disintegrated. Replaced it and 14.6 in the rear and we good to go. Lol.

      Hell yeah. I notices one of my kicker 300 amp anl's was pretty black and tarnished but not blown. I replaced it anyways.
