Changing your name:
JWBryant replied to meade916's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
May I have my name changed to JWBryant please. Thanks -
Huh, I didnt know you could buy baskets, I've only heard about recones. And the person that had these before me felt like painting over the skar logo. Thanks I'll give skar an email and check the other two.

I have a sub that I have had sitting around for awhile and when I finally got around to installing it I found that it was bent as if it were dropped. I feel like someone in my family knocked it off the table and just picked it up. I thought it was just bent so I installed it anyway and found that it leaked air like crazy. Anyway I took it out again and found out that its cracked, I figure I can get it reconed but the basket looks pretty bad, and I dont want to just toss it... it seems like a waste of a huge magnet and a coil. Here are some pictures

Amplifier question
JWBryant replied to budah93's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
Its because of the different lines of amplifiers. From what I've read the hifi line isnt as good as the brutus line of amplifiers. -
I think it was a Supra
JWBryant replied to DylanH's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
Holy shit I want a supra now -
I wouldn't know about dementia and all that, but I have to live wirh my grandma. She's just getting old and realizing that she is losing money and whatnot. Plus she got in, what I guess I would say minor car accident and she has gotten more angry at the world. She always tries to argue about everything and she is always negative. And she likes to talk shit too, all the time, its like she feeds off of negative things. So I sorta know where you come from. You know I really didn't mind my grandma when I saw her once every few weeks or so.

Thats one thing I regret, I had the chance to sit in a truck that was 155+. But if I get the chance again I'm takin' it!

JWBryant replied to RAM_Designs's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Snafu's stuff Is different his is OFC and the lengths are already specified I believe. So there might be a price difference and whatnot... -
Well I'm only 16 but I had a manager that was straight up stupid (so many reasons) he also came late while I was the first person there most of the time, but I got tired of his ass, he asked if I was gonna lose my attitude by tommorrow I said probably not as long as he was working there. Done with that shit. I'm young theres plenty of opportunities to come.

Whoohoo! Skar Sk-800.1D came Since I got the new amp I decided to clean it up a little bit Still a few loose wires and the bass knob still needs to be mounted, but it is much better than before. Been slacking off on the a pillar tweeter pods but hopefully those will be done soon. I'm starting to also not want the kickpanels because the tweeters are somewhat blocked and I cant use the parking brake, and I found out that I need to put the parking brake in place to compete. For a spot to put both speakers, I was thinking about fiberglassing the door panels. I also might have to rebuild the box so its under the window-line. But for now I gotta put car audio on hold somewhat because summers here.

I guess there are fewer LOUD vehicles than I thought I guess when I usually see scores in the 160's anywhere I just assume its on music. And the demo from the 160 truck... I just wish I would of been able to sit in it. :-(

Went to my first competition today and it was pretty sweet. I didn't know there was so much car audio activity in ND. There was probably 20+ vehicles with various sound systems. Mostly it was kicker, I also saw JBL, DD, and a few other brands. I was thinking about metering my single cab but I didn't feel like it was presentable, and if I did I was going to have to compete in some other class besides stock because my box was above the windowline by a inch or so. Anyway, the First 150 I heard was in some extended cab truck with 6 kicker 15" subs walled (maybe they were 12's). They turned it up and I got a listen. It was pretty loud, and the guy who demoed it said it did a 150. And Blaine Trones the guy with a 160... He was metered that day and did a little over 160 at 47hz. It has 4 kicker Solo X's walled, 4 Kicker Warhorses, and 16 batteries in the back. It was by far the loudest I have ever heard... from the outside. I got to stand next to the passenger door and listen as everyone was hopping in and out. I would have sat in it but after about halfway through the second song he had to quit because it was starting to smell. It was LOUD for sure but I imagine it wasnt playing 160db when he was demoing, which makes me wonder what it sounds like when people play mid 60's on music. I am going to this again next year and then I will be competing. Its pretty cool how much fun you can have at these events when you dont know a single person there. Well thats it, thanks for reading.

strangely addicting tune, we are farmers
JWBryant replied to Hugh G. Rection's topic in Tunez - All things music related
Beat addicting? Yeah I like it. Rapping? No. -
I'm no expert on how to get big numbers, but there is a lot of room back there. I have two twelves, one behind each seat, facing the rear and ported to the center. Seats are all of the way back and the boxes are about 2 ft^3 gross each and are tuned to about 33hz or so, I forget. Definetely a lot of options.
