Whats up everyone, i'm new here and I'm really getting into car audio. Right now I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado that I threw 2 shallow P3 12's in. I really want something louder. I'm not quite ready to do a blow through, so I want my first build to be 4 Sundown SA-8's underneath the rear seat, facing the front. I want two 4" ports, one on each side. I'm extremely new to box building, but I learn very fast. I have a few questions, and I would also really appreciate some pointers & tips. Question #1: Since I want 4 subs with a port on each side of the box, am I going to need to put a center divider in the center of the box, so that I create two chambers, each with two subs and a 4" port? Question #2: The SA-8's recommended box volume is .5-.75 cu. ft. so should I simply take .5 and times it by four, giving me a 2 cu. ft. box volume for the 4 subs? That's all the questions I can think of...for now. Any tips or other help is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks, Mike

So I'm looking to put car speakers in my home theater setup, for curiosity and something to do. I'm specifically looking at 6.5 components, audioque/pioneer/focal/jl audio. My question is how big of an enclosure should I make for the midranges? And would ported be worth the effort? I've never done this before so I would like to get this right the first time... Thanks

Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice on what subs to get, I'm wanting to upgrade to some higher quality subs, and wanted to know what you thought would be best, both for the money and performance. If it helps at all, I would be getting two and putting them in a ported box)

So, recently I was given a nice little gift and was told to spend it on whatever makes me happy. Well, bass makes me happy. I've always wanted a Sundown system that literally would just destroy my friend's ears... What I'm expecting to get from this build is a rediculous frequency range that can absolutely murder lows, and of course have decent sound in mids too! I am 19 years old and my most recent setup was 2, 12 inch P3's on 1150~ RMS in some gigantic overly high tuned box and it was, meh. With this build, I would really like for it to be my last build too. Even though I said that about my last one... Anyways! I resorted to this forum in hopes of meeting some new acquaintances who are more than willing to help me out here. With that said ^^ I'm looking for the best bang for my buck. I want the best possible setup in the $1500-$2000 range and I haven't been involved with car audio long enough to really know what to get, but I know I want Sundown. However, I am very open minded and if anyone feels the need to suggest other high quality brands be my guest, but provide facts. What I need: 1-2 subs preferably. Amp. Possibly new wire? I have 4 gauge on like a DB Audio 100 something amp fuse. Wiring Kit. And as for the box, I'm going to go with custom, but I want to know what everyone here would like to suggest before I decide what box to get. btw, I drive a car with a huge trunk so space shouldnt be an issue.

Ok so i have been helping a friend put in his system in his 98 silverado and i have everything ran correctly (rca's away from power and ground cables etc..) and there is still this buzzing or humming noise through the speakers it doesnt affect the music because when you turn up the volume it isnt noticable but when there is nothing playing you can hear it. He is running 4 alpine type r components and the amp powering them a is a quart 4x125. I was thinking it could be a ground loop but im not positive.
