What twists the knife is that we work for that freedom of speech too. people misunderstand "freedom of speech"...all the first amendment says is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." read the first part...Congress shall pass no law...that doesn't give you the right to say whatever comes to mind...that's why we have laws limiting hate speech, like this woman obviously was spewing. It is considered verbal assault to speak in such a manner, and it is a crime. freedom of speech means you can say any kind of crap you want. It has been interpreted by the Supreme Court time and again to mean statements critical of the government and it's members. The Constitution does NOT guarantee that cities and states cannot pass laws limiting hate speech...this has also bee stated by the Supreme Court.
