HatersGonnaHate Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Well On a happier note, install brackets and first coat of primer on the port. Found a nice gloss 'Merlot' that seems to match my car pretty well. We shall see once I spray it. Thanks for the update, Martha Fucking Stewart. Lolololol I did giggle when I read that though. And honestly, if it matches the car color the way you say it does, it's gonna look pimp as shit when it's done bro! baron_of_bass Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Have you ever considered going with a waterbased paint as opposed to a rattle can. I have always preffered that over a rattle can because the mdf will just soak and soak paint no matter how many coats you apply. if you use house (drywall) paint and apply with a brush i think it will create a smoother finish and it will seal it a lot better looking good by the way i cant wait to finally hear this beast Team Bass-Hz

I'm going to take my bottle of touch up paint to Lowe's and have them match the color for me. Gonna be sweet. @Watch the Bass; Like the guys said its Department of Motor Vehicles. Where you handle vehicle registration and titles, drivers licenses and ID cards, and transfer of vehicles. They are way understaffed and you can sometimes be there for hours for the simplest things. Audio-Concepts Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 One thing I usually do before painting MDF is brush on a coat of resin! No matting, just resin. It helps seal the wood. After that even out the resin with a palm sander and 600 grit paper. Primer and wet sand, than paint! The finish will be more uniform plus a shit load less paint.
