Kranny
3.5 cubes for a single 12? thats enormous. you would use a 15 for that space.
SnowDrifter
I'm thinking that the box itself is too large to provide enough backpressure to keep the thing under control. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

htanton93
Personally I love the low rolling bass notes. My mtx 9500 is a great sub IMO! And I have heard from just about everybody that the box is way too big, and then after they hear it most everyone's first reaction is to say "All that bass is coming from just one twelve?!?!" Even my buddy Kyle (ram1989custom) had his doubts.... And his dc level 4 is much louder than mine in the 38-50hz range..... my mtx kills his from 20-35hz and its only a SVC 4 ohm getting Maby at most 1000rms! - 2003 Jetta GLi VR6 - Kenwood HU - MTX 9500 12'' - Soundstream Rub1.2500
n8ball2013
ok then if you know it all dont come here and ask us why you are having issues. We just gave you four reasons and you blew them off to pat yourself on the back? Want me to just lock this now? MTX hasnt made a great sub ever. good? sure but not great btw tell me what 20 hz sounds like. Id imagine in that box it sounds alot like the spiders trying to rip themselves from the landing. htanton93
No, I was curious about why the sub would do that? Its not about my box, i love the sound of the box and the sub. But when the sub sinks in it dosent effect the sound, it just flexes the same but its sunk in?? I never noticed it untill i looked back at the sub on a 19hz note. And saying your going to "lock me down" is a bit over reacting, expecially when im trying to give a better understanding/ discription of the sub and setup. - 2003 Jetta GLi VR6 - Kenwood HU - MTX 9500 12'' - Soundstream Rub1.2500
n8ball2013
we told you why. but if you love your box and are too stubborn to accept anything that was said whats the point?
