Aero Port help!!

Thanks for the info, but why would I want more than 1 6" aero port? Is there a gain in using more than one? And Ive never messed with aero ports before so im sorry for sounding dumb. But I know when ive built regular ported boxes if I were to tune high in and around the 40hz range the lows just weren't there, is that different with aero's?

firstly, you will want more than just 1 6in aero, two, you can tune to 40hz and still play in the mid 20s. Where you tune doesnt completely mean that is where it will play its best. Tune it mid to low 13s, keep the port area on the low side, around 9-10sq in per cube and you will be able to play what you want.

I hate the 150 count too but its the society we live in that has caused something like this. Although I honestly do not see how after 150 posts a person can still not decide to be dirty on a buyer or seller... just saying.

cause with in the 150 post count it takes a new member to reach, it gives us the time (in most cases) to see if your a worthy member here and can actually give back to the community.. Selling here is a privledge not a right If we feel the member doesnt deserve to sell here, we can make that happen. Minimum post count might be increasing in near future too.....

Porting needs to be based off of cone area, but the general rule of 9-12 with aeros and 12-16 with slots is what most go by. Generally port velocity, cone area, flared or not, etc all effect what port size you need.

Your cone area is just under two 15s. 1 could work, but it would probably choke them once you put a good amount of power to them.

Another rule of thumb is smaller the port the easier it is to play a wide freq range, bigger the port means peakier

Wish I knew who started this rumor.

This was just discussed in another post. If larger equals peakier, does that mean when I am playing at low volumes it will always be peaky? Since you size the port for the higher volume condition, the port will always be "large" when the cone is barely moving, so it must mean it will be peaky.
