Basically for cheaper amps this means down at 1ohm its not necessarily doing rated with higher thd. I see a report a few years back on a Kenwood mono. CEA rated 500@4 and 900@2. It benched 504@4 and I believe 620@2. IMO it is way better to go ahead and spend a little bit more on a well made, reliable amp then to buy an o.k. one and have to replace it later which will end up costing you more $$$$. For an examply i ran 2 dc lvl 3 15 off 2 apsm's 1500's and bro ran 4 aq 2200's on 4 dc lvl 3's. Mine lasted about a year then the tensil leads blew. His lasted about maybe a year and half and he just snapped his triple joints. Both coils looked new, but mine had more heat spots in the former and dark spots on the coil. Both tuned with an o scope.
