I hope you're joking

not joking, bass knob is just a remote gain not a boost. set the amp gain with the remote turned up will prevent you from clipping with the knob.

not all remotes are like that.

my old amp had a remote that simply boosted a certain freq. so I put a knob in line with the RCA's which I then made sure was on full before DD1ing

OP. If it boosts a freq... take it out. go spend the little amount of money to get a lc1 ( I think thats what its called over there, the RCA inline knob)

Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.

This. I'll bet that OP set amp gain with knob all the way down now wondering why just a little touch makes it have all types of that extra bass.

if nothing changes, nothing changes

Yes it's

An audio control, and yes I set it with it down and it's not a bass knob that acts ass a bass boost just as a level control, so I should reset it with it all the way up?

Hu powered speakers and 8 12's walled? Now I've seen it all. :roflmao::suicide-santa:

Yes, you usually set it with the remote all the way up unless it's a bass boost.

And lose the line driver, offcourse your gain will be at max if your amp can only handle 6V instead of the maximum 8 a line driver can provide at maximum volume.

Line drivers are useless in 99% of the installs that use them, only use for them is if you split a lot of RCA's, to like 8 or more amps and you start out with a 1V signal or lower, other then that it's pointless.

If it removed engine noise for you that's very lucky for you because they always add noise to the signal, just find the origin of the noise and lose the line driver.
