Parentnoia
If he switched like he said he did and he got quieter then he wasn't wired wrong. OP how do you know one is moving opposite? He said he switched at the amp, not the sub. If they're wired together, switching at the amp wont change anything. 1999 GMC Suburban SLTNo system planned just yet. Look at "hate" spelled backwards. It spells "e-tah." For example, if you hate me you can e-tah dick.

Jessica
is this a sealed or ported enclosure? Also, like MrSkippy said, how do you know one is moving opposite? do the pop test with the battery on each sub or both at the same time if you can. edit: as for the door speakers losing bass at higher volume a couple things come to mind. 1. you are using loudness 2. you are just running out of power if they are wired through the headunit. also, another question. Did you have a factory "premium" system? like Bose or something? Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. hispls
If your sub is sitting cone side up + terminals should be the one on the left for each pair. Now you can rule out factory error in color coding the terminals and look for user error. I'd love to see some pics of all of this.
Krakin
You can get the terminals wired backwards.. The only way to know is to do pop tests or go get a cheap DMM. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.
