Is the LOWERED LOOK played out???

Recommended Posts

I myself think the lifted trucks are played out. I used to lift all my trucks then worked on a 2010 lowered to the ground Silverado and fell in love. The owner said "it's easier to get in and out of". She is 16 and those friends are just comparing her ride to what they want to have one day.

i myself am a parent and I have a toddler that has his own iPad mini. if he complained about not having an iPad Air, i'd let him rock the good old desk at the public library. I know you want to give kids the best that you can, I mean clearly you can tell i spoil my kid but I don't tolerate complaining especially because he gets so much that I know other kids his age don't have. I have no idea what his first car is going to be but if it's my toy car ('00 Turbo Focus walled with 2 18s) and he said anything negative about it. I'd let him roll on a Huffy or get him on the Ankle Express. Get her a Mountain Bike and tell her "you wanted something jacked up that can go in the mud".

If she doesn't like it tell her to get a job to buy the lift.

EDIT: Not in a JP kind of way.

I thought I was going to die from all the jizz filling my ears.

What's up guys. Well the GMC Jimmy is pretty much road ready, except for the 2 Power HX2 15's and 3rd amp that need to be installed. That will be done after Xmas. The goal is to "compete in car audio" in a yr or two.

Now here is my dilemma. My gf's daughter loves having a truck, but I am still getting little comments from her about the lowered stance. She is a country girl and wants it lifted. But she is new to driving, and takes corners as if she was playing a video game or on the track hitting the apex wrong and getting alot of body roll when I first purchased the truck. I thought a lowered stance would save alot of headaches.

Over the last 2 wks, she says the boys at her school are beginning to make fun of her truck calling it:

*"A Taco Stand"

*"Are you going to sell Tacos out of it"

*"You should make a Taco Stand"

*"That's a Mexican's ride"

I know 16 yr olds will be 16 yr old. And I'm not about to bash some stupid redneck kids head in just for a mean dumbass comment. My gf and I try to comfort her, and we keep reinforcing the belief that people will cut you down in order to feel better about themselves. We (gf and I) both think the truck looks "awesome" and "Devin, you know have a bad ass ride". "How many kids have a stereo like yours with proper wiring, and bad ass higher end Rockford equipment? Those guys are running Dual amps, and all that walmart shit. They are jealous. Do not feed into that shit". She keeps saying "yeah I know" but I do not think she really understands the message we are sending.

SO IS THE LOWERED LOOK PLAYED OUT? I love the pro-street look/ Xtreme look, and that's what I was going for when I bought the 18x9.5 rims. I just want her to be happy and proud of what she drives. Worse case scenario is I can put the GMC back to stock height, get a 2.5" body lift wider wheels with Micky's on it.....BUT it defeats the unwritten rule of "You should be happy with the first car you get.....because you always have the option of walking". I turned this truck around from a P.O.S. to a great running reliable truck.

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Good and bad. I like this site. :D

Them dudes probably are riding in beat down ass ford escorts. They need a punch in the mouth. As far as the lowered look I think it depends on where you live. I see more people with lifted rides in Chicago. Most of the hooked up rides I see on the west coast are lowered. I'm probably getting my shit lifted by summer.

Peer pressure can be a mother. Just imagine what she'll let them talk her into doing with it once it's lifted if she can't handle this little bit of teasing.

My son got the same shit when he took my Tahoe to school. "Looks Mexican". It's a black lowered 96 with graphite Titan 18s on it. "Mexican?" Really? Just ignorant kids, nothing more. If she gives in and lifts it they'll just give her shit about something else.

Static drops are my bag.

Put a pair of tennis shoes next to the truck. Ask her which one she would rather drive to school.

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

I will trade vehicles RIGHT NOW, see how she likes driving my hooptie around for a while.

Also, if you give in to whatever she wants, you're undermining yourself and the message you were trying to send.

Kids can take a little teasing, it makes em stronger. It's not like she's coming home and crying every night about it. I understand where you're coming from, but sometimes you have to let them figure it out.

If she REALLY wants to change it, tell her to get a job or save money some other way so she can change it to how she wants. Another plus about this is she learns how to work on a car.

"Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand.
