  1. Been working on this guy for a while now... what I hope to be final prototypes just arrived a few days back. Based on our testing I am going with a 750 RMS rating on these. I won't say people will not be able to run more... but that is our official rating. They will cost $210 from an authorized dealer.   4. You know I haven't weighed it... usually weight is the last thing on my mind after making it work right It's heavy for sure, though. I posted specs up somewhere else before -- but Fs is ~40 Hz or so. Should settle down into the high 30s after a while. Linear x-max should be in the ~22mm or so range; with total movement capacity a good bit higher than that.

  6. nope, sorry, i am not going to put a bar where the fuse is and run it at .35 - unless you wanna send me a check for the massive repair bill if it smokes and when these amps smoke, they don't just smoke, the fuckin' BLOW. Lucky for me, i only had a couple issues in the beginning. But then again, i got the first 4 T4000.1 off the line when they first came out. Other then that i have 7 of them and they all work. I plan on keeping them that way too. Seven, huh? Any interest in downloading any of them? if only we could download amps haha i would upload one of them for you to try

  7. Got my SMD VM-1 a few days ago. Now its time to find a home for it... Brainstormimg Where to put it. Maybe here? HMMM... Ok here we go! Love my dremel tool! Just a rough hole cut. Fine cutting is next. Finished product Looking pretty damn good If i must say so myself. I'm trying to think how I could flush mount it, or put a some sort of cover ring around the hole to smooth out the look, but I'm happy with the install for the time bieng. Ready to install.   8. Looks good. Came out real nice. A suggestion for finishing, is maybe to tape off the unit itself. then put it back in place, Then use filler to fill the gap in. Some light sanding, and some paint, or finishing of your choice, and I think it would tie in really well. To go a step further, if you did a ring out of mdf or something like that, the shape of the screen, and did a little chamfered edge on it, tie that in and it would really set it off I think. I think the only issue would be the lumps or mounds whatever you wanna call them on the oem panel. You may loose those. Just suggestions. I like it though. Nice job.

  9. 5 d3100's sounds like a bit overkill to me for a bc5500 and t600 unless your gonna run that 5500 at a dumb low impedance. I'm running 2 bc5500's and a c1100.4 on 5 d3100's, a kinetik hc1800 under the hood, and a 200 amp alt. I never see below 12v. I'd recommend starting with 2 d3100's and go from there. Keep a close eye on your voltage and if its dropping to low add another d3100.

  11. Your battery bank depends on what your Alternators charging capability is. If you have a 200a alt, figure the car is going to require about 50-65a of that and leave the rest for the audio. So now you have 135a of charging capability from that alt and the rest has to be made up by the batteries. With the bc5500 and t-600, you are going to have the possibility of drawing 6-700a of current, not saying that is exactly what they are going to draw, but they could. I always plan for the worst case scenario when planning electrical systems. The following is by no means the only way to calculate how many batteries you need, but has worked pretty well for me so far. 700a of current draw - 135 amp of alt output =565a battery support D3100- 110ah 565/110=5.13 My recommendation is 5 XS Power D3100s in the rear along with whatever size XS battery is a direct drop in under the hood.   13. The Rockford is probably a more efficient amplifier. Though you should probably upgrade your electrical if you haven't, something as simple as a deep cycle under the hood is a good start. You might try building your own enclosure? It could be a bit cheaper (depending on the price of prefab) and will definitely sound better if you build it to the drivers specs. Kicker isn't garbage, its just been overrated by uneducated teenage pricks who think they are the kings of car audio at school.
