  1. Was looking them up and they're more efficient supposedly when they're wired at 4/8 ohms depending on which ones you get, I'm going to keep them at 4. I think I'm going to get a few components so I'll have 2-4 small soft tweeters. For the mids I was just planning on stacking(series?) the wiring for each channel. Let's just say for example each one is 50w and I have 4 of them on an amp that puts out 200w per channel. Am I going about this the right way? I'll be checking everything with an ohm calculator before I go buy a handful of speakers to make sure it'll be done right and dmm right before I wire it all up. Aiming for a mix between spl/sq, maybe meso 5.25's for a rear fill and crescendos up front. What would be your suggestion for going about all of this?
  2. Just hooked up the 2 that I just got and well ummm....you guys are right, 2 is PLENTY. I'm most definetely not going to fire these guys at me, they're so loud I'm just going to face them on-axis from each one another on my A pillars
  3. Anyone ever get so mad when trying to figure out a wiring issue that you start ripping everything apart to start all over again? Yea that's me today...think I'm just going to take a break for a few days and chill out for once

Yes, and as tedious as it is... I usually find a flaw or I learn something new.  Although, chillin out is also a good options occasionally.  What kind of issue are you having?

I usually take a smoke break and just look and rethink about about everything, and most often it lets me see what i did wrong or missed, some times you just have to take a step back and see the whole picture to see it all. It is easy to get so focused you overlook things staring you right in the face.

  4. Makes sense, I just figured they're 80rms each and the amp puts out 50 @4 and 75 @2
  5. Or should I just go with 2 SAX 125.4's one for highs and one for mids leaving me plenty of headroom
  6. I'm upgrading my sound stage and wanted to ask if the power seems right for what my plan is 4 Crescendo F1 (4ohm) Super tweeters on the SAE-50.4 all wired down to 2 ohms 2 10" CT speakers, 4 CT Meso 6.5"(2 in kick/2 in the doors) and 2 CT meso 5.25's to be powered off the SAX-200.4? if there's any other speakers for suggestions I'm all open ears to them, haven't pulled the credit card trigger yet.
  7. EXACT answer I wanted. Hell yea! Thank you sir. I knew the xp's were to reserve power but I wasn't sure about how well they played together in a build
  8. How come people use D series batteries in the back of their car such as the D3100's . I thought they were just under the hood type batteries and the XP were accessories batteries...my plan was to get a D3100 under the hood and multiple XP3000's in the rear or should I just go with all d3100s?

  16. Ahhhhh thank you! wasn't entirely sure if that was the main reason, just heard that the company went out of business. Also I know on WCCA site the VU-Din is out of stock and not sure how updated it is but seeing how the OM-1's are flying off the shelves are they still making VU-Dins?

  22. Gotta love some of these audio "groups" on Facebook. People praising kicker and MTX like they are the only 2 brands that exist and everything else is complete shit. Supposedly there's a 50k watt amp the size of my hand for only 2k! hahahah

    1. BigManAC

      BigManAC

Its fine when people stick with their favorite brands. What I absolutly HATE is when they put down brands like Sundown, DC, Fi ect..

    2. BigManAC

      BigManAC

or XS Power, they seem to get a lot of hate

Te few MTX setups I heard were decent. I haven't checked in there prices or anything so I don't know if they are overcharging but it was ok.
