  1. I'll second that. Even if you look like an idiot for something you did, at least people respect you when you say "I'm sorry, that was completely my fault." Being honest and up front saved my ass several times. I may mess up, and I'll even cover for others when it makes me appear honest. I'd rather people doubt my abilities than my character. You can learn to do something better, but once your character is tarnished you don't get that back.
  2. You're drawing somewhere between 3-400a of current to power things fully. Your alternator is not big enough, you need more batteries or alternator power, or both. Also your power wire isn't helping things. For 300a+ I would upgrade to 1/0, and even just buy a spool and do 2 runs of both + and - if possible. Good luck.
  3. I would just save a bit more to get what you want, but 800 will definitely get you started well for subs. Just a few ideas on amps and subs: RD 2800w or so for 350: http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...9280#post289280 AB 2500 watts for 350: http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=16261 2 dc 18 lvl4xls for 600 shipped: http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=19235 C&D 100ah batteries for 70+ shipping: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...2-370fr-70ship/ Deka intimidators for 90+ shipping: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...s-90-plus-ship/ Electrical is going to be a strain though. If you do like 2-3kw I'd just get 2 of the C&D or dekas I linked to. G/L.
  4. I'm so torn between SQ and SPL, every time I try to make the switch I just miss the bass. But I have done several of the things you've mentioned lol. Even now I have been without a sub for almost a year and I'm constantly messing with the mids. My wife always fades it 50/50, so I just disconnected the rear speakers from the amp all together, much better sounding anyway
  5. God I used to drink a lot and barely get buzzed, but I haven't had much at all in the last 8 months or so. last weekend I had quite a few less than I would normally and was hurting! (No Red Bull, just Jager and Jack). Got fired Monday and leaving for vacation in NY tomorrow so send some of that this way (no homo).
  6. Wow, that's awesome. I wish American schools could do something like that.
  7. My sympathies. My father died from cancer a little over a year and a half ago when I was 21, you don't really get over it. Honestly it's harder a year later. I never cried, but make sure you take time to mourn. I was strong for my family because my mom needed someone to be there for her too, but I don't know if that is always the best thing in the long run. My father kept to himself and had few friends so my brother and I had to speak for my father at his funeral- there was no one else with anything to say. My father was the one person who never gave me BS, the only person who's advice was intended purely for my benefit with no ulterior motives. If I can help at all with anything just shoot me a pm. Best wishes.
  8. queer.... J/P, I like helping people/animals. It really does make you feel good about yourself. I worked at a hotel and would always stop by the pool every morning to free the frogs and stuff, because they die in there within a day.
  9. It will work itself out. I had a terrible job that paid ok, but I switched to another place in June. Good position, pay, coworkers, and management. I dropped 10 hours a week and picked up 30 at another job, and was able to make quite a bit more money. Then a little over a month ago they fired my boss, my wife lost her job, and now today they fired me because they say they paid me too much, even though they only gave me the position 5 months ago. I've asked for 40 hours a week at my 2nd job for months with excuses, but finally today I have convinced who I needed to let me pick up more hours. Things work out, though it gets really depressing. I did the math and I need to work 55+ hours a week just to pay bills while going to college full time and spending time with my 5 month old. It gets stressful, but it will work out. Best advice I can give is not to get down- people like it when you can take a hit and smile. I found it useful to talk to friends, especially ones you may have lost contact with. Just in conversation you may find jobs available you never knew about, or that weren't advertised. G/L.
  10. For now I have 2 jobs, working 60+ hours, but the wife lost her job a few weeks ago. While I'm going to college I can't get a good job, so pay's only enough to get by. I make like 2400/mo, and I need at least 2300 to pay bills. Till my wife gets unemployment or a job we're going to be cutting back on the steak Shit's tough for everyone right now, hell I used to make almost twice what I do now. It feels really shitty to make 40-50k a year right out of high school, then make less than 30k in your 20s. I've considered selling my audio gear, but decided to put it in and at least have some happiness if I'm going to be broke. Now I don't have the cash for the little bit of stuff left to buy. My wife still wants to eat for some reason :01nocomment8so: It is absolutely depressing though. Damn man, I work so much I find myself having to either get 3-4 hours sleep and do homework, or get a decent 6 and get behind in school work. I've got thousands in student loans and my grades slip every week due to late assignments. I'm too old for this shit.
  11. I would do 2 alts, they are the source of power for the batts, and depending on the vehicle easier to fit than a huge battery bank.
  12. That's absolutely sick. God... how could someone post vids like that of themselves? That's just wrong.
  13. I would use 5 batteries, and add another alternator when you can. I would start with at least 4 batteries. 3-4 runs of 1/0 should be good. G/L.
  14. Congrats. We bought the 2 vehicles we have now about 2 years ago (01 hoe, 04 malibu) and are the first ones we didn't pay outright for. I was told it would help my credit, so we also refinanced to combine some student loans and such with the auto loans. Should both be paid off in about a year (thank God). I know the first $6k student loan we paid off a month ago was such a good feeling. Congrats again. Now you'll have that extra cash to put in a big system, do exhaust, rims, or HIDs, or stuff like that.
  15. One Life to Live > The wife, god I hate soaps.. The Original Alien movie UFC Unleashed- first episode this season
  16. I'm trying to do the same thing, I'll send a pig if you'll do the same God I feel like a fag.
  17. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100...amp;ref=profile Hell yeah, I just started this week or so, but I want more land. Anyone on here just send me a friend request.
  18. Yes, describing how a single payer heath system would lead us into further debt while lowering the quality of service we receive and the timeliness it is administered could offend some people. It would be easy to explain how illegal immigrants receive free health care now, and how it would only be worse with more government. I would not chose that if you are on thin ice with the professor. It would be very difficult to find a society where socialized health care works well if it's an argument paper. I like the socialist government topic, but that would lead back to the negatives of health care. A paper explaining that evolution is a theory, but taught like it has been completely proven. There is as much evidence disproving evolution as supporting it, and it would be very easy to write sentences replacing the word evolution with a religion. I believe I wrote a paper not too long ago arguing why drugs should be made legal, then taxed and sold by the government: Drug prices could go down, quality could go up, jobs would be created by hiring people to farm, process, R&D, and package the substances. Lower unemployment, and less people getting fired because they like to get high in their free time. Crime would decrease, taxes could be lowered on other essential items due to the huge increase in revenue, students would not lose scholarships due to a few seeds on the floor of their car, we could begin exporting our crops to other countries for a profit. There are tons of charts showing this sort of stuff to use as citations and visuals btw. Hell even mass producing food based marijuana products would open a new job market.
  19. I ran one per BTL for a while, worked good. I had issues with one of them going up on me, and it took Memphis 2-3 months to repair and ship back. They work good on 16v if you ever plan on going that route. If you can get a really good deal and have the electrical go for it, otherwise I'd look at something else.
  20. DC /thread. I would never buy Iraggi again. After he got 2k of my money and still wont email me back- he's a waste of time. When there are reputable companies with good product and customers to back up the c/s why even risk a problem with a company with so-so feedback. DC and Mechman are great companies also backed by this site.
  21. Call your local scrap yards for pricing. I spent an hour cutting out old radiators from a bunch of a/c units, got like 70 bucks for my time, plus another 40 for the bulk metal of the units. They normally go by the hundred pounds for bulk, just guess how much you have and how much they pay. G/L.
