Does anyone have experince with AA Havocs? What are your thoughts on that sub? And Do those subs like Small enclosures or large?

Yep, So after demoing my setup for the first time, I get the famous "I had 2 12" Kicker L7s that busted my back glass" speech LOL! Now that my Sa's are breaking in, my car is flexing like crazy even with up to 2- 4 layers of deadening from the rear deck to the hatch. I'm DEFINITELY gonna post more vids up in these next couple days

A lot more progess was made today! I'm 85% done with my enclosure, all wires in place for my amps, factory carpet mounted over false floor AND SHCA 0ga came in today! Great progress before work! Should be up and running on schedule!!

Yep so it's a go! I'm OFFICIALLY going to prepare my car for Austin Heatwave in late July! A couple upgrades here and there such as changing my rear fire to sealed off, MDF to Birch enclosure, Morel to Hertz Components... Coilovers and 20" TSWs.... I Can't wait!!!

Well the torch I have is a little handheld one (From Harbor Freight), pretty good for the most part, just doesn't burn hot enough in this weather.. and It actually may be the solder thats cooling too fast now that I think about it

80 Sq ft of deadening and some custom fiberglass eyelids for my headlights!! Can we say, "O Happy Day!" LOL!! After Next Month I'll be starting my build!!!

I think my next enclosure build, I'm going to go ahead try the Aero port method... Easier to construct, takes less space then the convientional slot port and more efficient.. Sounds too good to be true, but I'm willing to give it a shot!! Read up on the sticky in the Enclosure section and like what I saw!!

Quick Question!! Most of you know, I plan to run to Sundown Sa 12s. My question is, If I dont have bracing, but I fiberglass the inside with chop mat and resin, will it be equally stronger?

you need to brace the box if you want it to last.. get a few broom sticks from your neighbors and cut them to size.

Fill it with concrete. All the bracing you could ever ask for. But for real: For some SA-12s, all you should need are some 1.5" dowels. Not sure you'd see any benefit from glassing

Ok, so if I get the dowels can I just glue and glass them into place? And as far as glassing the seams you dont think it would make it stronger?

Lol I feel you... It's not gonna be TOO hard of a build, the main thing I'm most concerned with is my doors pods because it'll be my first time fiberglassing! I don't have a problem with the build part. the only thing that'll be different from anything I've ever done is add an extra battery and seal off... nothing major. Its not like im building a wall lol

take the door panels slow, and be patient. I kinda rushed mine and they didn't turn out the best. they aren't bad especially for my first time fiberglassing but they could be better for sure.

I'm definitely going to take my time!!! I'm not looking into finishing this build until november, but I will be pulling my door panels by the end of the month and I will have my enclosure Design from Q of DSS done by Next week. I plan on not only putting it in audio shows, but actual car shows so this will be done as close to perfection as I can. I am pretty handy and have good attention to detail so I'm sure I can pull it off!

I Just got the word from Mike Singer that my alt is capable up to a 5k rms system, in which My original plans was for a 3.5k system, so even when I'm ready to upgrade back to my normal plans, I will have a BEAST at hand!!! Thats the bummer Kylar, It is everything I need. The kicker is I won't be able to install my electrical until next month BUT It will be installed the same day I put in my subs. For now, I'll be deadening, running wires and building my box and amp rack that way when the time come, I can drop my subs and electrical in the same day! So I'm just figuring out all the little tedious stuff I need

My beauty panel covers all sides.
but, if your box is screwed to the bottom, I wouldnt worry.. Put it in, and see.. Only real way to see.

My false floor meet the rear deck that the box sat on when i did mine. Just for good measure I put some deadened on it though.
