We talked about this a while back and I'm finally having to dig into the front end oil leak on my 3.0...been postponing looking for a 2.7 to put in it's place but the budget won't allow both the swap and the paintwork I need right now. Broke_Audio_Addict
Why not just twin turbo your v8? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. I was really wanting to stick with my 4.2, but the one I have right now honestly just isn't very healthy. I'm getting a fair amount of blow by which I'm guessing is being caused by scored cylinder walls. It's the other big issue with these cars, and at 175k miles, it would be no surprise. I've thought about getting a lower mileage 4.2 and doing a single rear mount turbo, but the issues with cylinder wall scoring could still pop up. These motors are aluminum blocks with just an alusil coating on the cylinder walls. I haven't looked into it a ton, but I don't think there's really a way to sleeve them, so spending money ($$$) on a new coating is really the only way to "fix" it. My 4.2 still gets me where I need to go, but I'd love to build a stage 3 2.7 in the mean time, either with K04s or potentially a single big turbo. My goal to start would just be about 425-450awhp which is very do-able on a stock 2.7 block. Anyways, this is all still a ways out haha. I'm in my final quarter of school right now and finally getting serious about finding a full time position somewhere. Priorities then will be to move out and get a reliable daily, and then I'll start getting more serious with the S4. 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
