My original idea was a "stack" type box, but since it's sooooo much material and time, my buddy Stuart and I decided to try it with one piece of wood with well placed kerfs. The only flat spots I wanted in the box was going to be for mounting the subs, but we had to settle for a straight section of port too. Anyway... I'm no artist, but whilst trying to explain it to Stuart through text message, this was my intention. Aren't most great idea drawn on cocktail napkins? Suck it, SketchUp. After a bit of quick and dirty math... we laid out a whole sheet of wood and started in on the kerf cuts. 4Runner lurking in the background. This build is for (3) DSS Ethos 12's. It's 4.5cf net with a ton of port. Tuning should come in around 32hz. We cut some forms for the rollup to follow and that would double as bracing. We had plenty of volume so we didn't need to "window" them. Left them solid. Each sub will kinda have its own chamber. Sorta. We couldn't get it all on one continuous piece, so we had to make a butt joint (that flat spot there). The process required a little muscle and all four hands, so pics skipped to here. Just rolling it up. Used some spacers in the port to keep the height consistent. Stuart has a rule that we can't start drinking until we're done with the power tools. But that's a dumb ass rule.
