Project Flexington: Parallel 6th order walk through, DC Neo 18s on 10k **UPDATE - MAJOR door build p15**

165 posts in this topic

Was pretty busy today but managed to get some work done. Removed the 2 piece port and the port divider that was too short:20160926_200409_zpsxiaj404z.jpg

Fitted the new Port piece and test fitted the dual layer baffle:

Got the holes drilled for the rest of the bracing for the front chamber and the braces that will run along the bottom of the port:

That's it for tonight but hoping to bust out a bunch more tomorrow night.

Hahahahahaha, it's perfect height for a lawn chair too! I had to get creative, work bench area is almost non existent in my garage and I won't do anything about it because everything is at my shop. Normally I would do a build like this there but it's all torn apart because I am currently looking for a bigger one. Plus it's kinda nice having a project I can work on at home vs driving 15min every time.

Man... Im in for this one. I just picked up a 96 Hardbody. I would like to see your alt set up installed. No one makes a replacement HO alt so I have to make a bracket. Im planing on a small blow through with 2 12's nothing this big. LOL

Unfortunately I'm not running the stock KA24. I have a small block chevy 350 swap.

Although the 96 hardbody has a single cam ka24, which should have the same mounting points as the ka24e in the 90-91 240sx which would mean that I actually have a bracket for a second alternator that I made a few years back for my old 240 if you're not worried about a/c. I'm no longer using it so I'd consider selling it if you're interested assuming that it will work. It's made to use a 125 amp nissan quest alternator

Also, check out the blowthrough link in my sig, that was a blowthrough I did in this truck with 2 12s

Damn, that's unfortunate lol. Yeah, getting rid of the bench is huge, talking about couple of db with it folded forward vs back with my blow through. I'm making custom brackets this week to mount the seats, if theyou end up being bolt on it can probably make a second set pretty easily

just curious, any relationship you use on port area on the rear chamber vs port area on the front chamber? i´ve found that double port area on front works better for me, for 2 12s i had a 3 4" aeros on rear chamber and a 10" aero on front chamber, worked awesome for sure

I got two dc level 4 15s im throwing in the back of my accent hatchback, as you can see all amps are wired up and ready to go, just gotta build box, but I cant figure out what would be best..
its going to be a big and tall slot port box, if port is to the rear it will only have like 4 or 5 inches clearance from hatch, i noticed walled off setups are always port and subs forward and sound great but also hear to always point it backwards... with my setup, what do you think would be best? after i build it,  its gonna be hard to turn around and experiment so kinda have to do it on first try.

So I happened upon this clean blue beauty and for a price of almost half of all the others of similar year and mileage, I snatched it up.

My build plans with it are to move my current system from the explorer into this since i will no longer own the explorer in a short time. The equipment being:
      HU- Pioneer DEH-80PRS
      Subs- Two SoundQubed HDS312D2's
      Amps- SoundQubed Q1-3500.1; AudioQue 90.4
      Mids & Highs- CDT CL61A
Wires- All Sky High 1/0, RCA's, 12ga speaker wire
Power- Haven't decided on an alt yet, gotta contact singer, see what he's got. I don't think I'll go with anything over 300A on the alt. I'll have a D3400 under the hood, and I've got a D4700 i had bought for a cruze that I'll keep by the amps.
Hopefully I can get started on transferring it all this weekend. I've got duty saturday so i'll have all day sunday to knock it out. The only things that need bought are the D3400 and the alt. I'll post pictures as i go through the install.
      edit: fixed the pictures

Alright so finally got around to "finishing" a build in one of my vehicles haha. I say "finishing" because it's as close to done without having the new alternator or battery racks built but it's sooo close lol. "Fighter Jet" reasoning will be shown through pictures, hopefully you get the meaning haha. Here are the stats:

2000 Ford Explorer Limited 5.0 AWD
      Pioneer 80PRS
      Custom switch/gauge panel
SHCA RCAs, fuse holders, ring terminals, heat shrink
      SHCA Green and Black 1/0
DC AUDIO 5K DC AUDIO 10k
      4- Soundqubed HDC3 10s 4 - 18" DC Audio Lvl 6 18s, full Carbon fiber option
      XSPOWER Batteries
      SINGER ALTERNATORS
Anyone want to see some pictures?
