nkrell11
The workmanship on this build so far looks good, looks like you've got some fiberglassing skills. Keep up the good work. Jb_
Updates! I still need to upgrade my suspension, stronger springs and maybe other shock absorbers so routed a square out of it. I know the edge on the bodom isnt looking great, this will be fixed. Top plate is on
Jb_
It has been almost 1.5 month since the last update. Had a busy time with work but slowly its starting to take shape. Because of all the weight i couldnt continue building before changing the springs. When half of the box was in it already wasnt comfortable to drive anymore. A friend of mine had some custom made springs of a focus mk1 which are 5 cm longer then of a mk2. Mounting them was ?#$$% because the rear axle couldnt go any lower even when the springs were clamped. $@#%, they were to long and even when both of us stood in the trunk they didnt drop an inch. The best option was to cut some of the coil because the std springs coudlnt hold the weight. Still quiet high but good for now. Maybe easier to get over speedbumps which we have A LOT over here in the Netherlands. Made the baffle, going for a 3x 25mm flush mount. That should probably be strong enough. After fitting the baffle i took a moment to enjoy the looks of it. Welded a bracing for the front baffle. Its slightly off center so im probably gonna adjust that later on. Until now i didnt exactly knew how much liters i had an how big the port should be. Went to a guy who's going to calculate the box and luckly i have more then enough space. Until now the walls were only screwed in place so i could make adjustment if necessary. Took a while to fit everthing behind the frame but ended up as planned. The pvc tubes will be used for the power and ground wires. I'll start with 4 50m22 power and 4 50mm2 ground (1/0 gauge). Rca cable are on the driver side as will the ground wires be. Ron36
U could always get bigger rims to fill that fender gap if the box doesn't lower the car enough but your build is sick , I'm tuned in. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery

I'll probably cut another coil of the spring or have other springs made that fit the car. Cutting another coil will make it even stiffer and maybe unable to drive. In the Netherlands we need to get our car tested every year (suspension, tires, co2 emission etc.) and i dont know if they'll approve shortend springs.
