With monitors, this is going to be about $9500 - $10,000 worth of shit. I can take this build to $15,000 if i wanted to but it needs to be done fast (this week) and it needs to be better then anything i have built so far.....and it will.

who needs a "learning curve"? He is gonna click on BF3 logo or possibly iracing.com - and play. The X-12 based on the new frame prototype is nearly done, actually. We may see it within a week or so.

I cant say much yet, and i don't know much about it anyway.....but Discovery International contacted me and wanted to experience the ride, find random people in public and get their reaction to the system, do hair tricks, rip phone books and at the end attempt to break a pane of glass. I honestly did not think i could break the glass very easily but boy was i mistaken......wow! oh.....and Psyph.....LOLZ! He gets a pass since supersonic glass shards would send most people ducking for cover hahah!! it was a fun day. I dont know if i can post my vids yet i am waiting to see if i am allowed. Just unloaded them after lunch; we'll start shipping pre-orders tomorrow. I am really pleased with how they turned out. I wanted to see them before starting more production -- and we sold about 75% of what we got -- so there will be a period of out-of-stock on them; but we should have steady stock starting after the 2nd run !

i was building PC's when this was the latest, greatest - actually, before that if you count Commadore vic20, 64 and the 128. Hey, i didn't "build" those but i bought the memory expansion cartridges to boost them up to 32bits of memory. LOL Yes i said BITS. iirc thats what i "upgraded" to LOL

You would need more than a week to really get the hang of 8. Thats why i wouldnt recommend it. I dont like the learning curve on it. Plus not many games/drivers are fully supporting it yet, although they soon will, of course. But i'd rather choose the tried and true option. It's not much of a learning curve if you actually give it an honest chance but most go in like oh I hate it, it's not 7 this is to new and toss it aside. Once I sat down and really played with it I love it. On my machine and monitor setup at home I can just scroll my mouse to the side and see all of my installed software, games and apps. I get live updates on everything I want and the best part is the start time. Even on my little netbook (i3 4gb ram 250gb hdd) 8 starts way quicker than 7 did. I can't wait to actually try it out on a tablet PC but right now on my regular desktop and my netbook it gets 2 thumbs up. The bugs will be worked out eventually so no issues there. The app store is a great addition and without even installing Office 13 yet I am able to access all of my email accounts from the mail app. No crashes, no freezing and no lag so I already know 7 can't hold a candle to 8.

what should i get, windows XP? new rig, new everything, new operating system. Plus i am hearing tons of great stuff about 8. i am a 7 guy but i can't go bass-ackwards on a PC build, ever. Go with windows 7. XP is older and 8 is shit. Windows 7 is great for gaming. uhhhh, no. The suggestion box is closed but thanks anyway.

Steve, Since everyone else is telling you what you should build, I figured I would as well. You should get a case that is off white, not bright white, not flat white, not antique white, but one that is egg shell white. It's what I would do when spending Chicken's money
