  1. from my understanding with the higher ratio you get more of a spike in SPL around your tuning...as compared to lower ratio which is more evenly spread thoughout the bandwidth, less of a drop in SPL over a wider range...

  2. If you haven't messed with a 4th order before then don't bother. I gave you the correct sealed airspace for the level 5 15 in a 4th order. I think I have a slight idea what they like since that is what is in my truck in a 4th.

  3. The Billet-Tech units do not share a single part in common with an AD244. AD244's are 3 phase large case GM alternators, the Billet-Tech units use 6 phase hairpin stator technology. Here's a video showing the difference: These units are available for popular GM, and Ford engines used in high performance and street rod applications, as well as for Toyota Supra, and most late model VW's and Subarus. More applications are being added daily. Here is a link to some applications: http://www.billetalternator.com/index.php/products/alternators.html

  4. My suggestion, if your only running 10k, use xls. You dont have enough power for fives, also they are not reccommended for 4th orders, without changes to the subs. And by the sounds of it. You might not have the experience to know what changes to make.

  5. if it was like that no one would have a 4th order. we all gotta start some were. cj is it better to do a 2:1 or a 3:1 didnt know you had this setup thanks for the help.anyways. depends what you are going for and how much space you have to play with. My wall right now is 1.75 sealed per and about a 1.5:1 ratio. I didnt have enough airspace to get my ported side any bigger. My experience with them is that the smaller the ported side yields a bit more musical and wider bandwidth. The larger ported side yields a much larger number, but a slightly smaller bandwidth. If I had my pick and plenty of airspace to play with, I would go with 2.5:1 with 1.65 sealed per sub.

  6. BHE does good designs, and as CJ mentioned he gave you the recommended sealed specs for the level5s....

  10. Will these work well in a sealed enclosure, or should I port to mid 30's?

  11. Ok to clear up one thing that I think is eluding people. When we say that the 10k is a 12v amp, all that mean is that you cannot run it on a 14v or 16v system. For those of you that dont know, a 14v system charges at 16.8v and a 16v system charges at 19.2v. The 9k is stable UPTO 18v. This means that you can run a 12v system(charging at 14.8v), a 14v system(charging at 16.8v) or a 16v system(backed down and charging at 18v) When we say that the 10k is a 12v amp, that does not mean that it is meant to be run at 12v or below. All 12v setups should charge 13.8v-14.8v.

  12. My posts read M4a and the DC7.5k is more comparable I will put the 7.5k up against the m4a all day everyday and twice on Sunday!

  13. I know what the posted specs say, but it has been proven that all of the DC amps will put out rated power at 12v.

  14. With that in mind the price won't scale as it usually does; we'll have to see how it all lands.

  15. Sick as shit. Looks sexy too. You are goin to start a new trend, how far away can a person be and still do a hair trick. I would have fun with that. Drive down the road pass a chick with long hair walking down the sidewalk and give her a drive by hair trick.
